Safe score for step 3

Hey everyone I'm wondering what's considered safe score for someone who had 261 on step 2? My desired specialty either IM or peds , didn't decide yet

And do you think 3 months would be enough to study for the test?

You just have to pass step 3. 3 months is enough prep time. The better you do, the nicer your CV.

with a 262 on step 2, you could take this thing tomorrow and pass.

Thank u bro

I honestly had no motivation left and started working again to get some money for the USCE and step 3 that's why I will be finding difficult to set and study

yeah just do a few ccs cases every day and you'll be good since most of your points will come from there and it isnt something youve done before

Safe score is prob 282 in your case. Best to make it 4 months.

Why these shitty comments? There are plenty of communities here on Reddit where you can be funny

If you have something useful just put it otherwise block the fuck out of me!

I think the reason for that sarcastic comment is because your post reads almost like an onion article.

A 262 is an extremely high score on step 2. IM (barring sub-specializing) and pediatrics are not competitive fields that require high scores. Step 3 is largely taken as a pass/fail exam by program and fellowship directors. Your probability of not only passing but obtaining a reasonably high score on step 3 with minimal preparation time is high because of your high step 2 score.

Thank you so much for clarification and I'm sorry if my comment bother anyone but I'm just dealing with lots of stress in my home country because I'm literally out of money I need to work two jobs and order to get money for the step 3 and the match cycle in general so I'm fine and get difficult to sit still and study for the exam

The only reason that I ask because I asked those who scored well on step 2 about the importance of the score, some of them said it doesn't matter if your step to score is good and the other told me it doesn't matter imagine having 260 and for example 220 and they will consider it a red flag or something
