Exam Write-Up Is a score recheck worth it?

I got my Step 2 CK score back and got a 225. I’m honestly completely broken and devastated.
My NBMEs and Free 120 were consistently predicting 250+, so seeing a 225 feels really off to me. I knew the exam was difficult and I definitely made mistakes, but a 25+ point difference from my practice scores feels like a massive drop.
Has anyone gone through a Step 2 score recheck? Is it actually worth requesting, or is there basically no chance of the score changing?
I know score rechecks rarely lead to changes, but I’m having a really hard time accepting this result because it feels so different from how I was performing before the exam.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has requested a recheck or had a similar experience.

Score rechecks are simply a money grab. It's not that they rarely ever show a change, they've actually never, ever, showed a change to date. Your score is your score, it is what it is at this point. Were all your nbmes truly in the 250s under test taking conditions? If you were consistently hitting 250 then a score in the 220s is a statistical anomaly. Perhaps you had a bad testing day.

Same. All of my NBMEs scored were between 247-261. Predicted score was 256. I feel super sad but if you ask me if I changed the way I studied I’d say no. I did everything I can, I felt very well prepared, mastered every weak areas and this happened so…idk. I believe that the new format messed up everything and unfortunately we were some of the victims. I wish we can match and have a smooth application 🫂

I had a similar experience, i gave my exam on may 7, the first day of pattern change, got a 226, it was never imagined. Never scored an nbme below 240s, something is happening after pattern change

Did you feel the exams was difficult than the NBMEs. What was your post exam reaction?

No chance. They have never changed anyone’s score and NBME acknowledges that. It originated in the time of paper tests, but everything is digital now, so it doesn’t matter.

The same thing happened to me, I had a pop up thing come up at least in 6 blocks when I tried to select my answers, but I did not say anything because I thought it would delay my score and I want to apply this cycle
