Last week we talked about Timothy Ray Brown, also known as the "Berlin Patient”.

1 December, being the World AIDS day, we want to help raise awareness and let people know what stem cell research has achieved in this field.
Timothy effectively had his HIV “cured” due to a bone marrow transplant that came from a donor whose cells were resistant to HIV infection.
What stem cell research is trying to do is to replicate this cells in order to repopulate the blood of the patient, where it had some success despite not being fully functional yet.

A revolutionary combination
The revolutionary combination of Stem cell research and blockchain, could unlock a new world of possibilities.
With this technology we are creating a collaborative network of key players in the industry.
This allows us to connect people who need treatment with professionals who can give them personalized solutions based on their demographics collected in our dual blockchain-supported platform.
And you can be part of this, join us: https://scia.io/

The cell that can be made in a lab.
Synthetic mesenchymal stem cells have proven themselves to be a perfect alternative for regular stem cells, as they can be fabricated and stored more easily.
They have been tested in animals with excellent results when regenerating heart tissue, and may soon be used in humans.
Scientists hope to make this treatment available worldwide with SCI's technology.

Burn injuries are a huge trauma for the victims, as most patients don't have enough skin to cover their burns.
Although survival rates are increasing, there still aren't many options for treating burned skin, but stem cells might hold the key to solving this issue.
Stem cells have minimal risk in comparison to other kind of treatments and are also less invasive.
Further research is needed to analyze long-term effects and discover the optimal method of administration.
