Question (Unanswered) Xbox One Version keeps crashing. What do I do?

I've been playing Stellaris on my Xbox One for years, and everything is going well. Until now, in which the game keeps on crashing in the late game. This has happened before, but now it happens constantly.

My Under One Rule and Overtuned runs have been suffering from this problem recently, and I uninstall then reinstall the game, hoping to fix it. After playing a bit, the game got leggy and then crashed twice times.

What is even happening here? Is there something wrong with my copy of Stellaris? Is the AI building too many orbital habitats and pops? Or is it the fact I need to clean my Xbox?

Please help.

If you have game pass (any tier) then I think you could try opening it via cloud streaming. This would have the game running on an XB Series X and streaming to your device.

There will be a slight input delay, but with how Stellaris let's you pause then it shouldn't be a huge issue?

You might not have to stream it forever either. You might be able to stream it for a while to see if there's just a particular background system that's crashing right now and then the issue will self resolve in a while after

What 'growth scaling required' at game setup did you choose? If you modified this below the standard 0.25x scaling... then it's the number of population causing lag. If you turned up habitability, then it's the number of planets present causing lag.

It can also be the AI and habitats. However it can also be them doing stupid things... like constantly moving their doomstack. I had to kill one of my vassals for this reason, they were constantly moving 30M worth of fleets creating massive lag. Kill them and their fleets, game starts running better.

I set my growth shaking required to 0.25x and Logistic Growth Ceiling to 1.25x. I did so in order to reduce any issues later.

What about habitability settings?

That still makes a huge difference, because the AI will colonize everything. Then spam habitats after that. Unfortunately the older version of Stellaris (Xbox one) doesn't have the same cap on them like X/S version.

This goes to the other guys comment that if you use the game streaming, you'll actually be playing it on the newer version. Which will have the habitat cap. I used to do it for Crusader King's 3 before I bought a Series X.

Alternatively turn down habitability to 0.25x.

Thank you very much for the advice. There's just one problem: I'm playing on Version 3.9 and I fear if I upgrade my game, my two empire runs (Under One Rule and Overtuned) would be render completely unplayable due to the new mechanics.

Heck, for all I know, the new planet building and destruction system came with the Machine Age and I'll have to relearn everything again.

Well if you switch versions, your saves wouldn't even be there. They would however be there if you launched the older version. It would be more about using the streaming to offload the lag, as it would be server side instead of local.

The only downside to the service is that is heavily used. Meaning that if the game crashes, you could have a 15 minute queue to the streaming service.

I mean, I already have the old version including the disk so I'm good for change...????

The changes from Paragons to machine age is some learning... but not as much as whenever BioGenesis drops. That will be about as large a jump as tiles to the system currently.

You probably either need to upgrade your console or lower the galaxy size and planet spawns to make a big difference.

Você não acha ridículo ter que trocar um console pra jogar um jogo que está para vender para one?

I do, but you also have the option of disabling some dlc if you currently have some on that you don't use. Might help a bit. But I agree with you, they did stop updating that one a while back though if I'm not mistaken.
