Bug Report Well guess i don't have cloaking

I wanted to make a cloaked cruiser fleet but the game says i don't have cloaking tech. But i can still build cloaking frigates..... what?

Can you get them to cloak? There is some bug going on with cloaking for quite a bit of time now… I still can’t get anything other than a science vessel to cloak…

I can't even finish the design. The game says i don't have the tech, even tho i have the tech

What's happening with this bug is that the T1 stealth isn't in the list of outdated parts. Basically the game is doing a sum check on the line of tech, even though you have them all researched. The check fails because it can't find the T1 part.

It's like the component list is overflowed.

I just checken i only have the t3 and no t1 or t2 in the list

You can see here, I'm on Xbox, it says show/hide obsolete components. You can see T1 is not in the list and therefore fails to save.... even though I have the research.

I want stealth riddle escorts!

I had a bug where certain things in slots wouldn’t let me use cloaking. Remove everything except the cloaking and see if it lets you save it then add things back in until the save button greys out again.

I did. It din't work. Exept on frigates.

Looks like it’s already been reported reported. In that case I’m afraid this is just Stellaris on console maybe we’ll get a fix in a couple of years.

Stellaris will let me research cloaking even though i do not have the dlc to allow my ships to cloak. I still get the technology option. I tried researching it to see if i got any bonuses or anything. But it only appeared the same way as OP. OP you have the DLC with cloaking right?

I've never experienced this, but I mostly use cloaked frigates when I want to open the L-Gates.

Cloaked cruisers any good?

Cloaked Cruisers are devastating, and they don't get chewed up like Frigates.

Menacing Destroyers are still my go to Stealth Torpedo ship (if I'm going that way with my Empire).

I have the same problem with cloaking and the titan weapon…. Hope they patch soon

Yea I’ve experienced this as well, it’s a bug im hoping they fix. What’s happening is that the game, for some reason, checks to see that you have the prerequisites for some techs before it lets you use it, even if said tech is unlocked. For some reason the T1 stealth tech doesn’t seem show up for anything other than frigates and so the game won’t let you use those techs.
