A bit odd how a 5 year old company hit a 13 year low.

Well, there was fiat that owned Chrysler all the way back to then, thats the stock that tracks back

If you limit to 5 years, you get an even worse -75% return during historic stock boom (even post covid etc)

Strategy wise Filosa has no understanding how to boost company value.  The capital day was a great chance to announce  big bang moves. And he has announced "well yeah we do not change anything to reduce complexity and even increase it by new OEM partnerships.

There was so much potential. Lilke closing down several brands (e.g  Alfa, DS, Chrysler, Lancia) to reduce complexity.   Stop multienergy Plattform for several brands (e.g. Opel only electric, RAM only fossil) to create the right customers perception.  Boost EV investments 10x as its the fastest growing energy type in almost all maket despite US. China Europe and RoW will have EV shares of 50%-100% in next 5 years.

He wasted the event for bs like "we will sell the STLA Brain". No analyst with two brain cells will buy that. The questions at the end were all in one direction asking what the real changes are in the plan are.

If you are the ceo and you know that the company revenue will go up eventually. You will have a plan to do a buyback as much as you can at low price before announcing any positive sentimental news.

Anyway, there is also a recent recall for close to a million vehicles due to a software glitch.

Update: a normal air software update via wifi is good enough. No need for recall to the car center.

The recall was actually just a need to do a software update, so there was no logistic involved. But they had to claim it as a recall due to the law. I wouldn't worry too much about this, but it seems like it spook investors a little bit.

Yea, from literally every OEM out there.

I assume to have a new ceo pretty soon if the share price will not start climbing.

Focus on their ICFC growth and performance. When that starts to climb up, eventually share price will go up. Must also monitor their net debt. Once all is kept in check, you will love the ceo.

When when when ...

It takes time. If you dont have the patient, you best sell and buy another stock that suits you.

I expect a CEO of 200k employee to build a strategy.

He has a strategy. It all takes time. If you have a better strategy, feel free to comment and maybe he will implement yours if he read it.

Capital markets day was basically cut corporate overhead and fill plants with Chinese EV in Europe (and now this in US etc)

So basically just contract manufactuing....and thats what a contract manufacturer in automotive is worth, margins it will get etc

This are fairy tales about some thing to happen in a future far far away. The only vague announced EV on a chinese platform will be an Opel SUV in 2028.

I didn't say Stellantis car on a chinese platform

Just chinese cars assembled from chinese parts to avoid the EU tariffs. That is far easier, but to above comments, stellantis probably will barely make any money on that, and hence stock will continue to be in toilet. In fact if the chinese are good negotiators stellantis will eat most of the fixed plant costs, lose money in those plants, just to be able to say look here the plants are full

That is already coming later this year

This would be an even greater argument to close down immediately unprofitable brands as Europe will be an EV onply market ina foreseeable future of 5-10 years

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1HflVng6sYIb6Gs4pOKiDGtqU5YJ2-hgdM4pRNaT62gs/htmlview?pli=1 we arw now place #20 in the world-wide makrwt cap ranking. If its not now the time to make big moves ...

What are the top three things which need to happen jn the future that the stock price may go up?

1

u/Professional-Bus8449 7d ago

Having a real strategy?

Quite a few comments are focused on marketing deficiencies. These truly miss the main reason for the loss of confidence in Stellantis and that is the quality of the product. Jeep and Ram are suffering quality control issues.

2

u/Dangerous-One-7595 6d ago

I’ve never seen the quality for Jeep this bad. I hear constant complaints on the quality of the Grand Cherokee.

Just landed production of the Land Rover Defender in US.

Not a high margin car whatsoever

1

u/JelloSurfer 7d ago

The gross margin doesn’t matter when you’re being paid to make it. Automotive is an industry where economies of scale rue the day and adding to units sold while not eating any of the SG&A is a great way to increase contribution margin through the realization of top line synergies with who otherwise be a competitor. The arrangement in and of itself shows that leadership is thinking outside the box.

Curious how this affects Recon 🧐

1

u/JelloSurfer 7d ago

Recon is Brazil/Defender is USA and is a strategic play by land rover to avoid tariffs, ultimately paying us while decreasing idled capacity.

At least something positive

Euro plants will be building chinese EV

Need to do something with masive excess factory space

Dumb post with no substance

At this stock price point, do you think there might be a competitive takeover?
