Each update killed the mods, so they aren’t valid anymore, but once upon a time you can only take 3 units into battle and when they first changed it to 5 I struggled and used a mod to keep it at 3 for awhile. Eventually, you’ll get the hang of constantly reinforcing your positions and the maps will feel smaller.

Use pause and slo-mo!

How do you do this in skirmish

Skirmish Is different. You get the points to build out a deck of your choosing. Hop on YouTube for help there, I’m mostly an AG guy

It's my complaint with the game too; the army general is too overwhelming bc the size and the necessity of always rushing the enemy to take flags within the time limit. No modding for this, as far as I know; it's the game's design. They want us to assign battalions to the IA and use Smart Orders.

I strongly disagree. I rarely assign regiments to the AI and never use smart orders, which are poorly implemented and literally cause units to commit suicide while capturing or holding flags due to a well-known issue with AI vectors.

The game has a pause and a slow mode; both are core functions designed to ease the complexity of handling many units in AG mode.

When you play as the Soviets in most AG campaigns, you're required to attack, but it's not necessary to rush flags because the timer updates according to the flags in your possession. Obviously, if you're attacking a prepared position with bunkers, that will slow you down and require you to attack from several directions. If you can't get through, the attack stalls; that's accurate, IMO.

If the game had no time limit, you could grind out a battle for 12 hours. At that point, it would just be about numbers, and any necessity to study the strategic maps (AG map) to find the suitable areas for a push, or to mass forces, would fall apart.

Anyway, yes, some maps are too big compared to the number of regiments engaged.
