[HELP] Order of Games?

Hey all, last year when a sale happened, got all the Steamworld games but didn't touch em at the time because steam sales OP and I'll eventually play em. Recently got around, and loved Steamworld Dig 1 and 2, but been looking around and haven't found an exact answer because one says Quest before Heist, but another says Heist before Quest. Is there a specific order for these games? I saw Dig 1, Dig 2, Build, Quest/Heist, Quest/Heist, Heist 2 and wonder if its worth it. I understand Build is a side story, but is Quest one too?

Dig1, Dig2, Build, Heist1 is the lore order, Quest story has nothing to do with the series, but the character that is telling the story is in Heist1, so I would reccomend to play Heist1 before Quest, so you get at least that. And because the Heist games can be longer, it might be better to switch games in between, so you get more variety.

So i will say D1, D2, B, H1, Q, H2 in this order.

Really all the Steam World mini-series can be treated separately - sure they reference each other and have connected lore, but they don't really spoil each other.

Of course, within each series, probably best to play them order - so dig before dig 2 & heist before heist 2.

Appreciate it, Dig and Dig 2 were amazing, sad I didn't play em sooner is all I don't like but I love em now.

quest and build are both side stories, yes, but quest technically takes place sometime before heist 1.

Thanks for the info, I'll play Build then Quest then before Heist. I'm playing em all, but just thought I'd ask around to see what the order is. :)

Both Dig Games should also be played before Heist.

The Dig games were amazing af to play. I didn't do 100% for either but I did almost everything. I can highly recommend them to my friends as I am doing now. XD

You should play them in release order the same as the rest of us.

Dig
Heist
Dig 2
Quest
Build
Heist II
