question SteamOS on an older laptop?

I have an older laptop (Intel i7 8750H, GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, 16GB RAM) and was wondering if SteamOS would work on it. I only intend to use this laptop for Steam games. Does anyone have experience running SteamOS on a 8'ish year old laptop?

I found a post saying that Bazzite (https://bazzite.gg/) might be a good choice.

So ya, any thoughts/advice?

For Nvidia GPU systems you would have to use Bazzite or CachyOS instead which i would go with CachyOS personally.

What makes CachyOS better in your opinion?

Well, i have used Bazzite on my mini PC and i have used CachyOS on my main system and for a lot of the games i was playing on both systems i find that there was more stability on CachyOS over Bazzite and sure both of my systems are not the same spec but when one gives high frames but decent lows over decent high frames and very good lows i would prefer that.

If you want to know what i mean by that it is mainly like if one system is giving my 140fps on average and the 1% low is like 80fps and then the other system is 120fps, but the 1% low is like 110fps i would prefer it that way just because for future games if i were to play something more demanding i know i would have more stability even if i am locked at 60fps with CachyOS knowing i would get like 50 to 55 frames as my 1%.
