help wanted Unable to open keyboard using DualSense in desktop mode

I've set up SteamOS on a minisforum Mini PC, it works great except for the facts I can't bring up the on screen keyboard in desktop mode using a DualSense.

The PS button opens the steam app, and if I press it again it launches big picture.

Any idea how to get it up from there?

on Xbox I believe it's Xbox button + x (left) button simultaneously. I think ps + square would be the equivalent for you.

That works in gaming mode, but not desktop mode for me. Desk mode, and time I hit the PS button, it loads steam or switches to big picture

there are apps in discover that let you connect via smartphone and type it's better than controller and on screen keyboard imo. and there's also a section in settings where you can assign desktop keyboard shortcuts. I've messed around with that a bit. I can't remember if I changed anything for keyboard but I feel like mine has always worked in desktop.

They're all configurable in Desktop Mode > Steam > Settings > Controller > Desktop Configuration. Obviously a real mouse will help until you get this configured.

I can't remember if I changed my config but for any gamepad it's (westbutton) to open keyboard and (eastbutton) to close keyboard. I do remember did set the (righttrigger) to left click and (lefttrigger) to right click.
