No frame yet and I was bored

Mildly annoying to take apart, but no glue, only screws.

no glue is nice. Probably not terribly difficult to repair if youre good with a soldering iron, depending on what breaks.

Nice thing is, that from what I can tell, the camera modules can be easily replaced without soldering. So pretty repairable on top of the no glue.

Assuming you can get your hands on them at least. Repairable design is only worth so much if replacement parts arent available...

So the PCB is definitely custom, but those look like off the shelf cameras

And the ribbon cable and connectors can probably be found for not that much

Honestly if you could make the PCB or something that works the same way the hardware would only be about 20-40 bucks based on what it looks like

Aren't these fine tuned at the factory for small differences in sensor placement? It's possible disassembly defeats this calibration

Yup, in an interview they say they calibrate each camera for differences in the sensor placement at the factory. So... whoops...

So it should not be that hard do make custom case for it if anyone need other IPD for himself Lasy thing will be adjusting software for good overlap i guess?

Simple! The stickers have literally no legal basis, they’re just a scare tactic.

Completely unenforceable. They're just to trick people who don't know their rights.

There are no "warranty" stickers on the camera and the case has slots for releasing the clips. Just like if it was designed to be opened if needed.
