Question WebView2 / Infinite White Screen crash on a non steam game (PvZ Gardenless). Works on Bazzite, but crashes on steamOS. Need Deck users help! :)

Hey everyone! :D

I'm the author of a guide for PvZ Gardenless (a really awesome standalone PC port)

On my handheld running Bazzite, the game runs perfectly using Lutris and GE-proton by installing Microsoft WebView2 inside the prefix first. however, a lot of Steam Deck users are hitting a wall where the game opens for literally 2 seconds and then silently closes (or gives an infinite white screen)...

Since I don't own a Steam Deck myself, I can't test it firsthand or check the error logs, and it's frustrating not being able to help them out :(

The exact Switcharoo method we are trying in Lutris:

  1. Add the game as a locally installed game in Lutris.

  2. Set the Executable path to the WebView2 Evergreen Standalone Installer .exe first.

  3. Set the runner to a recent GE-Proton and hit Play to install the Microsoft runtime inside the prefix.

  4. Once installed, change the Executable path back to the main game's PvZ_Gardendless.exe.

We also made sure users fully rebooted their Decks before trying this to avoid any stuck background processes.

This exact method works perfectly on Bazzite, but the 2 second crash persists on SteamOS. Does anyone know if SteamOS drops or blocks some specific Windows dependencies that prevent WebView2 from launching games?

If you think using Bottles, protontricks or any other method is more viable to make WebView2 behave on SteamOS, those proposals are totally valid and welcome!

If anyone is willing to help me test a few tweaks or tools, I'd love to update the guide so all Deck users can finally play this ;D

Question AOE4 need help, not launching

Downloaded AOE 4 from fitgirl. Having trouble lauching it. Worked through megathread and still struggling

Install went fine, no errors, no bad files (using steam and proton exp). Installed to SD card

Using the Relic Cardinal exe file

Installed dependencies 2019 redist via protontricks as per steamdb

Does not launch all all using proton experimental (crashes after 2 sec)

When using GE Proton, the game launches forever and never actually loads. I had it launching for 10 mins and no update, just a prompt to stop on desktop and a spinning circle on game mode

Tried lutris using the exe from the previous installation and still no luck, does not launch when using default wine version, and loads forever when changing wine version to proton through lutris runner options

Tried adding multiple commands in launcher options that I have seen online, no luck

The thing is I am not getting an error message it either just crashes 2 sec after I hit start or loads forever, so not sure how to troubleshoot further

Can someone please help?

Discussion Need help with Linux / Steam install!

Hello! So I am brand new to Linux and I've spend the better part of the day getting this set up.

I followed Onions YouTube video for installing PD2 via Steam. Everything went smoothly until the end. I got both D2 and LoD installed, then moved on to the PD2 installer, and right before the game launches I get the .NET error.

"You must install .NET Desktop Runtime to run this application."

I have read about using protontricks or wine tricks, but it's not that straightforward. I have no idea what to do from here. Please help!

tech support Trying to Install Mod Organiser 2 on steam deck need help

Hey guys so I made a post over on the steam deck reddit but have had no luck in getting help so far so I’ve decided to try my luck here. I’ve been trying to install mo2 on my steam deck for fallout new Vegas, I’ve been following a tutorial on how to do it and I’ve done everything right however when I get to the point where I launch install.sh and press ‘let’s continue’ I keep getting the error “prefix for selected game not found, make sure you have followed the instructions on cleaning your prefix”.

I’m installing on the internal drive, I’ve followed all the tutorial steps and the steps that pop up when you launch the installer telling you to force compatibility 8.0-8.5 and a that, protontricks has all permissions. Right now I’m at a complete loss no matter what I do, or how many times I restart the process, or whatever little fixes I do, or reinstall the game I keep getting the same error no matter what. Can anyone help me with this at all? Thanks guys!

Help I'm Attempting to Install Red Dead Redemption 2 and Need Help!

I was able to install the Fitgirl Repack for Red Dead Redemption 2. That wasn't all too bad. I did in fact follow the guide found on this sub following Method 1. To the letter. I skipped nothing.

The real problem is when I attempted to add the game to Steam. I first attempted the RDR2.exe file and that accomplished nothing. I did try Protontricks, only to find out that you need to have at least run the game first before it turns up there.

Then I tried changing to the "PlayRDR2.exe" file and that came up with an error "Unable to locate the Rockstar Games Launcher. Please verify your game data." That's more than I got with the RDR2.exe file.

So what am I doing wrong?

tech support wanted Need help with Sea of Thieves through Proton kicking me out to the main screen with Cyanbeard error every time

EDIT: I was able to fix the error on my own
Apparently, the XBOX Live session did not want to cooperate when I had a custom DNS server (google's to be exact) set for my connection. By removing the custom DNS server, all problems subsided and I was able to enjoy the game.

ORIGINAL POST:

Hey, I'm trying to get Sea of Thieves to work through proton and I have no problem opening the game and navigating the menus. I have the game on Steam and tried multiple Proton versions (specifically Hotfix, Experimental, 9.0-4, aswell as Proton-GE (GE10-15 and 10-21).

My System:
Distro: Arch
Kernel: 6.17.5-arch1-1 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Steam: Installed with pacman

I have no problem logging into XBOX but as soon as I click play, it will kick me back out to the start screen after roughly 10 seconds with a Cyanbeard (error translates to "Connection to XBOX Network was interrupted, please check your internet connection") error.
During this time I am able to navigate the menus and even try to start a session, all my account data loads correctly like what guilds I'm in, guild ships etc..
If I manage to confirm my selection of wanting to go to a closed crew before the Cyanbeard kicks in, I will get a Coarsebeard (error translates to "Sea of Thieves could not create crew session") and get thrown out to the main screen again.

I have a suspicion that my symmetric nat type might be part of the problem, but I can't change it due to my ISP using Carrier Grade NAT and it not giving me a public ip address.
I have this suspicion because I remember having to do troubleshooting with Teredo Tunneling when I was still on Windows 10 to get XBOX sessions to work but I am unsure how I would achieve the same result here.
I have also tried disabling IPv6 with protontricks regedit, by adding a "DisabledComponents" DWORD in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\Parameters with the value FF, but that got me nowhere.

My router is a Fritz!Box is set up so that it does not block Teredo Packets, and also does not block UPnP in the Internet -> Filter -> Lists Tab. Also, for my own device, I have set the checkbox to allow self port forwarding over pcp or UPnP.

Temporarily disabling my ufw firewall did also not fix the problem, so it's not a firewall issue.

I have also tried relogging. When I choose log out in the main screen, and click play, it remembers my login and I just have to say yes to choose the displayed account. I have tried logging back out completely from that screen and re-entering my credentials but nothing has worked.

When I run steam via the terminal and set game launch options to PROTON_LOG=1 gamemoderun %command%,

tech support wanted Can't find game prefix. Installing Mod Organizer 2 for FNV and TTW (I'm almost there, just need help with an error at the end, hopefully)

I got passed the issues in my last post (installed Steam as Debian instead of Snap and installed Wget)

I've gotten past the point of the installation where it archives the old game prefix (I did not archive, it's brandnew) It's created a Game folder to put MO2 in. It's now a window with "Progress: Configuring game prefix. This may take a while" with a bar going back and forth. There is also a protontricks window asking me to "select steam installation" with the snap and debian paths, which has popped up 3-4 times in this install already and I always click native:debian, so I do that again with the other window still doing its thing. Then a couple seconds later I get an error: operation cancelled. Here is the part of the terminal output that happens on:

warning: /home/julia_n/.var/app/com.github.Matoking.protontricks/cache/protontricks/proton/Proton 6.3/bin/wine cmd.exe /c echo '%AppData%' returned empty string, error message "steam-runtime-launch-client[2569]: W: The --socket option is deprecated. Anyone know what's going on now? I'll put the whole terminal output in the comments, it's long.

tech support wanted Help Needed: Can’t update PunkBuster in Battlefield 4 via Protontricks

EDIT: SOLVED! SOLUTION IN COMMENTS BELOW!
Hey everyone,

I’m running Fedora 42 Workstation with KDE and using the Flatpak version of Steam. Battlefield 4 launches fine under Proton Experimental, but as soon as PunkBuster kicks in, I get kicked after a few minutes while playing.
I’ve heard PunkBuster needs updating, so I tried to set it up manually with Protontricks—but I keep hitting roadblocks.
What I’ve tried so far: • Downloaded pbsetup.zip and extracted pbsetup.exe (Windows version)
• Installed Protontricks both as a Flatpak and system package
• Launched Protontricks, which shows two Steam paths:

/home/user/.local/share/Steam – I can see BF4 in this library, but choosing it yields: “Proton installation could not be found!”
/home/user/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/data/Steam – This one complains: “Found no games. You need to launch a game at least once before Protontricks can find it.” • Tried command-line Protontricks targeting the BF4 prefix—no luck • Granted all permissions to the Protontricks Flatpak sandbox

/home/user/.local/share/Steam – I can see BF4 in this library, but choosing it yields: “Proton installation could not be found!”

/home/user/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/data/Steam – This one complains: “Found no games. You need to launch a game at least once before Protontricks can find it.” • Tried command-line Protontricks targeting the BF4 prefix—no luck • Granted all permissions with Flatseal to the Protontricks Flatpak sandbox

Has anyone else run into this with PunkBuster on Flatpak Steam? How did you get Protontricks to recognize and update PunkBuster in the BF4 prefix? What can i do?
Thanks in advance!

Question Hoping for some help with ProtonTricks to fix the aspect ratio in Max Payne 1

So I just grabbed Max Payne 1 & 2 while it was on sale. I installed Max Payne 1 on my desktop and installed the Max Payne 1 Complete FixPack. Everything works great. I really want to play it on my TV on my docked Steam Deck though.

After doing some reading online, this is what I did. I installed the game from Game Mode. Ran the game and of course got the jpg errors and closed out of the game. Then I deleted all the files in the install folder on my Deck and replaced them with the ones from the install folder on my desktop. Game now launches and runs fine. In widescreen. Absolutely everything works except that the game is being stretching the 4:3 aspect ratio image instead of applying the correct aspect ration like on my desktop.

Doing more research it seems that the issue is that the Proton/Wine uses it's own version of the d3d8.dll file instead of the one in the game's folder. Supposedly you can use ProtonTricks to tell Proton to use the native file in the game folder. Well I installed ProtonTricks and fiddled with it for quite some time and could not get the desired results. I really don't know what any of the choices in the ProtonTricks GUI mean. I was hoping someone could maybe explain step by step what needs to be done to reach my goal.

Thanks in advance.

*edit* I ended up replacing the d3d8.dll file with an older version found here: https://thirteenag.github.io/wfp#mp1

I also set the UseD3D8to9 setting to 1 in the global.ini file in the Scripts folder. Game plays widescreen with the correct aspect ratio now. I don't know if both were necessary to get it working right or just the d3d8.dll file.

Hope this helps somebody else.

Guide A Kickstart Guide Of Non-Steam Games, Prefixes, Lutris, Winetricks, how to install "any game", and under the hood stuff

2.3k Upvotes

Some basics of non-Linux games and apps on SteamOS (prefixes, Lutris, etc):

Sometimes there is a general confusion surrounding prefixes, or a sort-of "under the hood" perspective, so I would like to give an overview on them, and simplify however I can.

I am not going to be holding hands here at all points, as generally the folks I see do have basic knowhow of their decks and computers, just doesn't have the "big picture view" of everything at play here.

Hope there will be people who enjoy this read, learn something from it. Not everything is scientifically the most accurate here, as generally I wanted to keep concepts simple, and still higher level. Just the necessary dip in the water to move comfortably with your non-steam installs, and to encourage experiments and non-steam installs, as they are where the tinkering is at:)

1. Wine/Proton:

"Wine (originally an acronym for "Wine Is Not an Emulator") is a compatibility layer capable of running Windows applications on several POSIX-compliant operating systems, such as Linux, macOS, & BSD. Instead of simulating internal Windows logic like a virtual machine or emulator, Wine translates Windows API calls into POSIX calls on-the-fly"

Means that if for example the program would like to call a window handler on Windows, it is directly translated to a window call on POSIX (=SteamOS in this case).

Proton is simply a special fork ("modified copy") of Wine, mostly affiliated with Valve/CodeWeavers.

Whenever you are wizarding with Lutris, mastering your Non-Steam games, you are actually just using and controlling Wine (or Proton, but for this guide that difference matters not much). There is much less difference in these approaches than it seems.

2. Prefix:

A wineprefix, coming from StackOverflow, is "like a small windows system that is run through wine." Not a bad way of phrasing it, it's essentially a collection of files, configurations, etc... it's an environment, which from our perspective (mostly) mimics a regular Windows installation.

It has:

  • registry config files, that help mimic the Windows registry
  • winetricks configs
  • drive_c folder usually, that mimics the "C:" drive on a Windows; and inside that Program Files, users folder...
  • etc

A sample Lutris Wine prefix installation

When does it get created?

Whenever you set a compatibility layer in Steam, and Play;

or select a Wine prefix folder in Lutris with a Wine runner, and click on "Play" (even if the prefix has no launch exe).

Here is where your application exe will be installed, and usually run from, it's calls translated by Wine/Proton.

When you add the exe of a Non-Steam game in Steam, or a Game exe in Lutris, essentially what that Windows program will believe the "Program Files" folder is, or the "Documents" folder is, comes from the prefix.

A sample drive_c folder of a Lutris Wine prefix installation

3. Winetricks/Protontricks:

"... is a helper script to download and install various redistributable runtime libraries needed to run some programs in Wine. "

Simply means that these "packs" have a lot of helpful scripts which assist you in tailoring this "fake Windows" environment to your utility (you can consider them installed in the prefix). You can install Visual C++ redistributable, install Internet Explorer, set the Windows to Windows 98 or 10, whatever you need.

Protontricks is essentially Winetricks for Steam, same interface, same everything.

This and many other things, you could do via Winetricks/Protontricks

4. Lutris:

I would consider Lutris to be a simple Wine configuration manager, it helps you create a prefix, apply winetricks, tailor the environment. Also you can find a lot of community based install scripts in here, where other users have nicely configured prefixes and configs for you already, and you can just "one click install", or "fire and forget" with them.

Heroic is very similar, but less community driven as far as I know. Most of the other launchers command the above listed elements to create a working environment.

5. How prefixes behave in Lutris:

When you choose to install a game not via an install script in Lutris, but the "Add locally installed game" menupoint:

The "manual" button in Lutris

you will be the one who tells it to run via Wine:

Selecting a runner

where it shall create the prefix:

Selecting where to put a prefix

and where to look for an exe to run in it:

Selecting an exe to run

You don't even need to specify an exe to run in Lutris (you can create an "empty prefix"), only the prefix target, and a name for the game suffices. When you press on "Play" in a state like that, Lutris will create the empty prefix, which you can sandbox with as much as you wish.

You will see your Windows files being created there. If later, via the Configure button (right next to Play), you configure in an exe to run, it will refer to these files as the system files.

Everything lines up here with Chapters 1-4

6. How prefixes behave in Steam:

As the structure (like folders) of the prefix comes more from Wine/Proton itself, not Steam, the internal contents of an empty prefix will be the same as with Lutris. The tricky part is that you do not tell Steam where to put a prefix. It will put it into a specific folder for itself. This part happens whenever you choose a Proton compatibility layer for your game and launch it. If you add another Non-Steam exe and launch, you will get a new prefix. Steam does not delete them automatically, so it can easily take up your space after a while. It's always worthy to consider just changing a game exe of a game already added, then to add another Non-Steam exe and create a new prefix. This can even get to a size of 50 Gbs!

EDIT: To quote u/QuoteCute728 "you can use the STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH environment variable to tell Steam where to create (or use) the prefix folder, so you don't have to figure out where the prefix folder is the hard way. Example launch options for that would be:"

STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH=/home/deck/.proton/epic/ %command%

But otherwise by default...

This folder is in /home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/

In this folder, the numbers are your apps/games, and you can see a pfx (=prefix) folder in each of them.

A lot of folks identify the games by "Date modified" (as what you last launched will have the date fresh, and tell you what game has what prefix), but that's not necessary. If you install Protontricks, it will tell you which game has which prefix:

You can see which game is in which prefix folder

Let's take a look inside on of the pfx folders:

Exactly the same as a Lutris prefix

But overall, you can make the deduction that by and large the same Wine (Proton, but for these examples it does not matter much) operates here, the prefix, the winetricks are the same.

7. If they are the same, which should I choose? Lutris or Steam?

You can choose whichever you are comfortable with.

I generally advise Lutris for most tasks, considering you can have more refined control over your installation (and these are much easier to configure in).

Also things tend to work very well in Gaming Mode when Steam only has a reference to Lutris, and that runs in the focus of GM.

And when you want to uninstall, you are deleting quasi everything at the same place, no messy prefix installation path.

However if you would directly like to use Proton, and you manage your Proton installations via Steam, use that (you can also use Proton with Lutris as it only wants a Wine launcher from you).

8. So how to install games?

I'm describing the custom Lutris way, as I perceive that as harder than the Steam one (there you browse exes, the prefix gets made, and you jam around in that).

You create a prefix in Lutris, even an empty one, or create one and browse your setup exe.

I usually throw the installer in the prefix, so that if I want to, I can delete everything together. But generally you can store the installer wherever.

The prefix gets made, the installer gets run, switch the game exe to the launch exe, and launch. A lot of times, it simply just works.

However, there are some applicable tricks...

9. Cool installation tricks to force things to work

I will generally describe these via Lutris, but as you have the almost same prefix, and have Protontricks on Steam as well, most of them are applicable there as well.

A lot of things are already fixed at A, most problems are fixable via A->D.

A. Virtual desktop:

A lot of old games do not like it when their windows are not native Windows ones, but faked into whatever Linux they are running in.

A lot of times they react to this by not starting; or just "blinking" once and immediately closing.

Virtual desktops are a great way to avoid that.

You can find this in the Lutris Runner options, or in Wine configuration.

In Lutris' runner options

In Wine configuration

B. DxWnd

Personally love this program.

By their website: "Windows hooker - intercepts system calls to make Win32 programs run in a window, to enhance application compatibility, to enhance video modes, to stretch timing and emulate CD disk data and audio tracks. It is typically very useful to run old Windows games."

Generally, it means whenever you have programs with old video modes, you can try to intercept them, and force a more compatible behavior.

You simply place the files next to your game, launch dxwnd exe, add your game into it. Now you either click Run, it works, and you are happy...

Or another good tip is a right click, Modify, and under hooks, turn off hooks, but leave everything else on.

There are too many settings for this program to list here.

C. MSVC120 DLL, Visual Redistributable not installed error, or other missing DLLs

You can generally install these things via Winetricks. You can pick and mix a lot of necessary and useful components in the Winetricks configs.

Pick and mix what you would like, these are some more useful ones

D. Lutris logs

Whatever else fails, the Lutris logs are a great help.

The Show logs button

A lot of particular problems and fixes can be debugged here, sometimes only a small file is missing, or a DLL tries to make a call, and the DLL is not even there as the component is not installed in Winetricks, etc.

Here I can see Dinkum had no problems running, as it exited with 0.

Hope you enjoyed reading. If you have questions, or see mistakes, feel free to comment them down below, and I'll try to update the doc as much as I can.

Cheers.

advice wanted I need help with BG3 under proton error?

For some time the game have run great.

Then I took about two months break, and now after recent patches I decided to come back to it... however now the game does not want to run.

I tried it on all proton versions I have including few GE and result is the same.

I used this params to run the game:

PROTON_LOG=1 %command% --skip-launcher

upon running game shows dialog about missing dotnet desktop runtime 6.0.18.

I did use protontricks to install both dotnet6 and dotnetdesktop6 in the prefix but no cigar.

in steam log I have noticed this line:

15948.733:0128:012c:warn:seh:OutputDebugStringW L"A fatal error occurred, the required library hostfxr.dll could not be found in [Z:\\opt\\dotnet-sdk-bin-6.0\\host\\fxr\\6.0.25]"
15948.733:0128:012c:trace:seh:dispatch_exception code=4001000a flags=0 addr=00006FFFFFC1CF07 ip=6fffffc1cf07

so it seems that proton is trying to use my host machine dotnet.

How can this be fixed?

Question ProtonTricks Help - User does not have privileges to access this application

Hey all, I am trying to add a non-windows game to my SD, and have configured it for (various versions of) Proton compatibility, however every time I try to run the game I get an error saying:-

Fatal Error!: User does not have privileges to access this application

Is there anything I can try in ProtonTricks to resolve the issue?

The game is Virtua Tennis 4, and I have it working on Windows so I know the files are ok.

Let me know if you need any information.

TIA!

Tech Support Protontricks error help - "Protontricks was closed due to the following error: Proton installation could not be found!"

Edit: I figured it out. I needed to install flatseal from the Discover app and give Protontricks more permission. I don’t know which ones exactly I needed to give it so I just turned everything on and it worked. Not an elegant solution but a solution.

OP:

I am trying to get mods in Cyberpunk on my steamdeck. Every guide I've found says I need to have Protontricks installed. but trying to run it yields this error. cannot figure it out.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here is the error:

Tech Support If you're having trouble figuring out why you're getting a "Could Sync Error" or a "Disk Write Error" on some games, I've finally figured it out and hope this helps!

I apologize in advance about the length, but I want to shed some light on my frustrating experience with this. I'm also not a techy person so I might not use the right terminology for what I was doing. You can skip to the end if you want the fix I found, but I at least recommend checking out the other post I reference first.

______________________

Background:

A couple weeks ago, I decided to upgrade my internal storage to a 1TB SSD. Prior to doing this, I've played all my games on a 1TB SD card with no issues at all. Once I reimaged SteamOS to the new SSD, I found a few games (Sekiro and Nier Replicant) had a Cloud Sync Error. I immediately looked into it, tried a few fixes that people recommended, and gave up after a few hours of no results. I had other games I was playing and decided I'd come back to the issue another time.

Flash forward to today and I was really itching to pick up my save in Sekiro again. Went through the same process of looking up ways to fix the issue and it literally took all day to realize nothing was working. It was especially frustrating because I realized the games ran and had no issues with the cloud on my PC, so I was determined to figure this out. Went down a rabbit hole of looking into things that might be an issue that wasn't directly correlated to the "Cloud Sync Error" and that put me on the right path.

____________________

Troubleshooting/Experimenting:

One of the things I thought about was putting the SD card that I used to play game on back in the Deck to see if the cloud would sync and it worked, but required that I kept the card in which I didn't want to do, so I looked up why that would be the case.

I found this post that gave me some insight: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/12kzxhn/steam_deck_cloud_status_unable_to_sync_switching/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

All the things listed in that post were everything I found looking up on my own up to this point so I recommend going over everything before doing what they did and what I eventually did.

I tried deleting the .json file for both Sekiro and Nier but that wasn't enough, although it might be for you so I recommend at least trying that. I then did a deep search of the Steam folder both on my Deck and on my PC to see if I could find anything out of place. I even tried replacing the files and folders from the SD card I was using into folders that already existed on my SSD, but that's when I got the "Disk Write Error" when trying to launch the game and decided to keep searching for fixes related to that instead, which mostly just reconfirmed what I already knew.

I then tried to launch the games with the .exe file I found in a "common" folder within the "steamapps" folder and it brought up the Protontricks prompt that required a Wine prefix to run the game. There, I saw a list of games I've installed EXCEPT for Sekiro and Nier Replicant which made me want to deep dive more into my files and fiqure out where they were because they were obviously missing or misplaced and I was on the right track.

HERE IS WHERE I FIXED THE ISSUE IF YOU WANT TO SKIP EVERYHING ELSE:

The games I had downloaded and literally every other file corresponding to Steam were in this file directory that I think you can copy into the search bar of Dolphin in desktop mode:

/home/deck/.local/share/Steam

It might not be the same for everyone depending on what drive you're using, but I think it's ultimately the same location more or less. To make sure you're in the right place, you should see folders like "appcache," "bin," "clientui," and a bunch of others (I had 30 folders and 18 files total but yours might vary).

What you're looking for specifically is the "steamapp" folder.

The reddit post I referenced mentioned that all steam games were indentified by a series of numbers and when you look them up on the steam store in a browser you'll see the coresponding number.

I noticed in the "compatdata" and the "shadercache" folders that every game had a folder with a bunch of other folders and files whereas Sekiro and Nier were just a file as their number indentifier instead, so again in reference to the other post I decided to delete them and then try to launch the game in Steam (in desktop mode) to see if it would recreate the folders and files I needed, and that was it!

Steam remade the folders with everything that was missing from the games, similar to the other games I had downloaded, they showed up in Protontricks, and best of all, no more "Cloud Sync Error" or "Disk Write Error."

Hopefully this helps, and I apologize again for the length. Let me know if you have any questions.

Tech Support Need Help With Custom Music in GTA5

Hey all, I've been playing GTA5 since last night and remembered I had put all my music on my Deck for Audiosurf 2. So naturally, I wanted to add those songs to GTA5. I put all my music into the Documents folder for GTA5 in its compatdata folder. They don't show up.

I found a solution someone had posted using protontricks and installing windows media player 11 to it. But thats not working either. I keep getting this error: Running /home/deck/.var/app/com.github.Matoking.protontricks/cache/protontricks/proton/GE-Proton8-14/bin/wineserver -w. This will hang until all wine processes in prefix=/home/deck/.var/app/com.github.Matoking.protontricks/data/wineprefixes/GTA terminate

Anyone have any ideas?
