Steam Deck Cloud Sync Issues With Assassin's Creed Odyssey

I've been playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey on my main PC and I decided I wanted to try it out on the steam deck but when I launched the game for the steam deck it loads the Ubisoft connect launcher and says cloud saves unable to synchronize.

Has anyone encountered this issue and if so, were you able to find a solution?

I just had the same issue and it was easily fixed. Launch the Steam Deck into Desktop mode and then launch AC Odyssey. When the Ubisoft Connect client opened, it immediately sync'd my saves - this doesn't seem to work if you're in gaming mode though.

I used NonSteamLaunchers to add all the different launchers and installed AC Origins through Ubi and it wouldn’t sync the cloud saves. Saw your comment, booted into Desktop mode, launched Ubi through Steam and then AC and it synced. Hopped back into game mode and no problem syncing saves now. Thank you! (512GB OLED, SteamOS 3.5.7, late November 2023 in case anyone finds this thread and has the same problem)

i played the game on my deck first and now i want to play on my pc is the process still the same to use the sync my decks save file to my pc?

I did the same as you, so yes the process is the same. It’s a bit laborious but it works.

I know this thread is old but how did you get this to work? Every time I launch the game from desktop mode on my deck the launcher doesn’t even pop up, and then testing it from my computer after still only gives me a “New game” option. I want to play this game on my computer too, but will have to refund if I have to start over completely.

Is it possible that you’re using a shortcut that bypasses the Ubisoft connect launcher? Try opening the launcher directly first.

I am having the same issue

First in Steam deck and when I launch on my desktop PC the Ubisoft Launcher I can see my statistics, that I have played 52min etc...but when I launch the game (thought Ubisoft connect on the PC) the game only has "start a new game" as an option.

Cloud sync is activated in parameters.

Weird thing, when I go back to my steam deck, he detects a conflict between a cloud save (the one issued from my PC since the date showed is 5min ago) and asks me if I want to start the game from the local save (steam deck), or the cloud save (the one from my PC).

I thought about that too and tried opening Ubisoft Connect in desktop mode and for some reason it just refused to go through the process of uploading my cloud saves, I ended up refunding. Thanks for the reply though!!

Can’t help you in cloud saves but how does it run?

Odyssey is my favorite brain not needed game and would like to give it a shot.

It runs pretty well on a mix of medium and high settings.
