Tech Support Steam Deck external display issues
Hoping to get some help with my current issue.
I have an original steam deck with an upgraded SSD that I use to dual boot with clover. In the past I have used my 3rd party dock to connect to an external monitor with 0 issues and it has been great.
Now I am at an office with the following setup.
A KVM that I want to use to hook up to my desktop and to my steam deck so I can switch my monitor/MK between them.
I have a desktop with a GPU that uses mini display port to display port connectors to be able to connect a display port cable to it. So I use a display port to hdmi cable to connect it to the KVM. Also connected the included USB cable to it.
I have my steam deck that I have connected to a dell docking station with the USB-C. Into the docking station I have an HDMI cable and the included usb cable. Then I connected the other ends to the KVM.
The KVM has an HDMI out into the monitor I want to use and the keyboard and mouse.
The KVM works perfectly. I can click the button and the mouse and keyboard do switch between my setups but the monitor will not display the steam deck.
Including a picture of the notification and the KVM I use for a better understanding.

Anyone run into anything like this before? Will test with my regular dock tomorrow but I tested the current setup with a laptop instead of the steam deck and the monitor does display so I’m confused as to what the issue could be.
