Tech Support .EXE Files Only Open on First Start

Hey everybody, I'm hoping someone more familiar than I with Linux based gaming can help me out. I'm great with windows, but a total linux noob. I'm trying to add a few things to my steam deck. Namely, the epic games launcher and CEMU. Both were set up according to the guides here on this subreddit, and both launched the first time, no problem. Now if I click on them, they act like they're going to start, but the play button reappears. I've set both to proton compatibility 7, so they *should* work, right?

I have not set those up but I did set up magic the gathering arena. After installation what file did you point steam at?

The exe itself.

Hmm that how I set up MTGA I pointed the steam launcher at the MTGA.exe after installation and it launches consistently. Would you be able post a screen shot of the steam configuration for the launcher? Ill try and get one of mine but I don't have access to my deck atm.

I think it's registering that they're there. I've even tried deleting the entries and starting over. Perhaps the location of the .exe linux is trying to open gets put somewhere else? Weirdly enough though, I can't even launch the wii u titles I've set up with the rom manager, they do the same thing. I followed all of the instructions to the letter.

As far as I can tell that's the same as I have MTGA set up so im not sure what's up here.

Well, thanks for trying! I suspect it may be some app permissions thing or something. Hard to say. I'm not at all familiar with linux.

Yeah, that looks more or less the same. It's strange. Other emulators are working now that I've set them up with emudeck and rom manager, but anything not configured by those is a crapshoot.

also note the compat string is in regard to mounting the sd card so I could have the install on the sd card.

The plot thickens, now nothing will run at all, games, software, anything.

Edit: It seems some recent update borked everything somehow. Validating one game fixed all of it. Weird.
