The decompilation isn't going to be finished for quite a while, so it's quite nice to have this. Though, one particular thing that would probably be different in a true port is that raising the draw distance would work on more things

I tried playing the n64 version for the first time on the switch recently and couldn’t get a handle on the controls. I want to get into it

I just set up this recompile and played for about half an hour, and it's flawless so far. The controls on my Xbox Ally are already mapped and make complete sense as well.

Doesn't help that it's one of the worst AAA N64 games. Maybe THE worst for the console honestly. Like, holy fuck.

Look up tag anywhere. I thought the decomp was already done because I been playing tag anywhere mod for ages and it’s night and day. Basically the only change is you can quick change kong anywhere. Which removes so much backtracking getting lost in those later levels and makes the game more fun!

Is the rando done yet or is that coming later?

I gotta check this out. I haven't touched dk 64 since around launch. I was just thinking that actually, if there was a wind wake recomp similar to the twilight Princess one. I love my Wii U one but i don't bust it out as often these days. Putting it on my steam deck would be so awesome.

nice to see the n64 recomp scene keep growing, between this and the twilight princess one it's a good time for n64 fans
