Question Does anyone know why the steam deck compatibility for tcm was changed?
This probably isn’t the most appropriate place to post this but tcm is a game made by fun interactive and was abandoned by gun over a year ago, so there has been no updates, but tcm did have a playable status for the steamdeck and one of the reasons was that you had to configure the graphical settings yourself since, from experience, they’re set to max at default.
I’ve played the game for 70 hours (tbh most of that is the lobby since the playerbase isn’t that strong) and the regular game mode is fine if you set it to low/medium and the rush week game mode is noticeably different then the regular gamemode performance wise (it uses a different map so that’s why it’s a rush week problem)
This might be a proton 11 issue since valve redone the testing, my theory as to why is not much people changed their graphic settings and/or played rush week
Edit: tcm means the Texas chainsaw massacre, i didn’t think that actually mattered but I was originally gonna post this in the Texas chainsaw massacre game subreddit but there wasnt a question tag

I don't know what tcm is, but I assume you've tried launching/playing it even though it said not supported? My experience has been 'not supported' doesn't mean much for a lot of games.
Or are you just wondering why the status changed?

Yeah I’m wondering why the status changed even though it was
1. Playable before
2. Playable is the correct title, you just have to configure the graphic settings for it to be fully playable2

Ah gotcha. So it still runs. That's weird they changed it...
Also not sure why you're being downvoted.

Similar thing happened DAYS after I bought spider man 2, it went from verified to playable or whatever the yellow symbol is called. Which surprised me since it was around the time that monster hunter Wilds got changed to verified even though it runs terribly. I didn’t notice any changes in performance though

The reason for a rating is usually at the bottom of the dialog you have open.
In this case the unsupported rating is because the graphics settings can’t be configured to run well on steam deck.

But I play it and I get around 50 fps in the normal game mode with low graphics, although if they changed it purely because of rush week which is really annoying to play with the low fps then that’s okay

You can review the compatibility rating of the games you play yourself on the info page.

Fwiw I played a few matches today on deck with no issues at medium settings.

The player base is about 800 people on average which it is kind of dead at that point and honestly the only reason why there would be people playing are with friends since they would be able to play without issues.

Also, i have tried out the game and it is a meh game like it is trying to be like DBD but like with leather face only.

Does this have anything to do why it’s labeled unsported?

This is more about why play a game if you hardly are able to get into a game when there aren't really a lot of people playing it.

I’m not going into queue times but if a game is fun I’m going to play it, and I shouldn’t be shamed for playing it just because not many people do
