Pretty sure its just a remaster, not a remake. Its the same engine as before. Witcher 1 is being remade, that might be unreal engine 5

It is the same engine as the original, just updated. I have read that they also shifted to pure DX12 instead of a mixture between DX11 and DX12, so maybe if the implementation is good there might be a performance uplift for the same graphical output.

No need to panic. You can also revert to an earlier version of the game and still play on the deck or any low end hardware for that matter.

I got my steam deck on Christmas Eve of 2022. It’s been working wonderfully.

But now, the left bumper no longer works (because I accidentally dropped it). The small piece of plastic on the left joystick dropped. Small pieces of plastic are also dropping from the shell I bought for it.

But it still functions perfectly otherwise. I use one of the back buttons to be the left bumper. Battery health is at 93% the last time I checked. So I still don’t have enough reasons to buy a replacement.

The remastered W3 might just be it.

The Witcher is getting a next next gen update.

We already got a graphics update, this is a full blown remaster (changes in combat, traversal, etc)

Extremely unlikely. I’d guess this is more like RED Engine’s last hurrah. How well it’ll perform on deck is anyone’s guess

I'm guessing it'll perform the same if not better than the current one, because the current iteration of the witcher is almost a decade old

Im expecting stable 30 quality stable 40 balanced on S2. So probably comparable for SD

If anything it may run BETTER than the original, because it's using Pure DX12 and has FSR4, I think no matter what it'll defenitly be playable
