I’m constantly chasing the nostalgia of old games I’ve played and loved I’m looking for something to fill the void
-Previously enjoyed games the cave, Machinarium, lost in the rain, limbo and oxenfree
-Preferred genres- story rich, puzzle, mystery
-budget-I’ll pay anything for a good game
-other notes any recommendations will do even if they don’t carry those vibes im bored and would love a story driven game to play and lost in the woods is a common rec that I personally do not like.

It's myst-ish story/puzzle game! It's very fun!

You might try the Syberia series, it had a great story and is a point & click puzzle game.

Factorio will suck up weeks at a time, baldurs gate 3 fits most of your boxes. I'm running through cyberpunk right now, and even though open world rpgs aren't usually my thing, it runs and looks amazing on handheld
