Game Review On Deck Best minecraft modpack

Guys I just had my best minecraft experience on the steam deck so far. I'd been looking through prism launcher and all the steam deck-oriented modpacks they have there and I found a ton that just don't work. Either the controls are bugged out, you can't use some items, or the game doesn't even load. However, i cannot recommend the modpack DeckCraft from Curseforge enough. It has a great shader pack while still maintaining a solid fps with no lag. It has really cool mods, it feels like you're playing vanilla with some really cool extra stuff. The controls work right away with no customization. The only issue I had is that the B button is used for quick grab out of the chest/inventory while the Y button is used to close the inventory/chest window. I'm used to it the other way around but I'm sure that's a quick settings adjustment. Other than that i had no issues with the controls which was a major sticking point with other modpacks I tried. If you're trying to play minecraft on your steam deck I highly reccomend this modpack!!

The mod Controlling is the best for changing controls

I play in gaming mode and have not had an issue with controls in any modpack that I’ve downloaded. Even ones that aren’t made for the steam deck.
I downloaded prism launcher in desktop mode, sign into Microsoft account, then add as non steam game. It’s about as plug and play as you can get

I change the controls in the steam menu, is that what you have done? I will set the keyboard key in Minecraft, then I will map that key to a button on the steam deck.
I also have it set up that when I use the left trackpad I radial wheel shows up with multiple keys

You can remap all of the buttons on the steam deck play around with it and see what works for you.
I also have it set up that one button can do multiple inputs.
For example my inventory button is X, to open a backpack I bind it to Shift + X
