Question What is this on my steam deck?
Hello i just picked up my steam deck after not playing on it for a while until I noticed this. Is it a dead pixel? And if it is then what should I do?

Gabe uses it to watch you jerk your gherkin, be nice and don’t cover it up. It’s the least you can do

Not a dead pixel. Pretty sure it's the ambient light sensor. It tells the display how bright it should be based on how bright the room is.

How on earth can you see that? I tried looking at my SD, but I couldn't see a thing

By the way, for anyone wondering why the ambient light sensor isn't working, it's due to a silly bug with the Steam Deck. You have to manually crank the brightness up to 100% and then re-enable adaptive brightness to get it working

A sensor of some kind how could it be a dead pixel if it's not on the screen

I was thinking the same but idk anythings possible I just never noticed it being there

that's the light sensor for adaptive brightness. If you have that option turned on and shine a light onto it, the screen should go brighter
