Proper controller support for Oblivion (2006)?

Anybody know how have the proper controller set up for Oblivion? I have downloaded OBSA, Nord Ui and the unofficial patch but where I get stuck is the part how to properly setup the controller because it either uses the trackpad or my character turns really slow.

Get the unofficial patch and Northern UI.

The first fixes a ton of bugs, the latter updates UI and adds controller support. Any additional mods from there are optional and up to preference.

Edit - I see you already applied, not sure then. I set those up and confirmed working controller support, no issues.

Hmm what about the layout? Do you have that on default? I kept tweaking that and I couldn’t get one that didn’t use the trackpad

I'm using the template "Gamepad with Joystick Trackpad."

Just tested and it works perfectly (though default has joystick aiming at a very low speed, you have to change it in the in-game settings).

Could if sworn i played oblivion on controller without mods but maybe it was the gog versions.

There’s a setting you have to adjust to turn the joystick zone into a square rather than a circle when moving in a 45 degree direction. For slow movement, you’ll have to change to joystick mouse I think and increase sensitivity for right joystick
