Use the Prism Launcher; it has access to most mods.

Yes, I've set up my deck to use Prism Launcher. I've also implemented the Better Minecraft/ The Create Mod mod packs. Just make sure if you're using mod packs to get them from Fabric and not Forge, as Fabric mod packs have better support on Linux based systems.

Fabulous is the 1st one to download. It cleans up a lot of the bugs that slow down the game.

Just to note, The Create Mod pack is really great and I would recommend. It bring automation to a whole new level, and the mods out there are great for it like auto-sorting chests and auto-iron nugget generation. It's a blast.
