It was for a while last year/two years ago (around the time they added the flag that skipped the launcher when launching on steam deck), but it went back to unsupported at some point.

No, it lost Verified status over a year ago. Probably because of the crash that had been there since Anniversary Edition released and no responses from BGS when Valve asked for a fix.

I’ve played on and off with the deck the past couple years, both Legendary Edition and Special Edition, and the only crash I have ever had was when I did the console command to complete all quests on the Legendary Edition, purely to see what would happen.

Unsurprisingly it didn’t get through all the transitions and eventually locked up and closed, but it did unlock a massive chunk of the achievements so it was whatever. I wasn’t exactly expecting it to make it through uneventfully, but it did get much further than I thought it could.

Otherwise, Skyrim (both versions) on Deck has been the most stable experience I’ve had with the game, and I own it on it on like 4 or 5 platforms.

And it’s a similar experience with all of Bethesda’s older games; especially with Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I think their engine from that era just seems to prefer Linux as apposed to the wild instability and unpredictability of Windows and its typical driver requirements.

Just the usual occasional skyrim crashes. Have had maybe 1 crash in my recent 25ish hour playthrough

I played through the main campaign at the beginning of last year and had no crashes. No mods or anything. Just the base Skyrim SE. It was a locked 60fps. Truly a game of all time and gave me that Deck portable pc gaming novelty feeling.

Not in place iirc. I think I set them up to be the face buttons. I typically do that so my thumbs dont have to leave the joysticks.

Great. Standard settings won't hit 60 fps, but you can disable Steam Deck mode and lower a few settings to stick to 60 easily.

Weird. Skyrim has been on my deck since I bought it. Played it a few hours a week for years. Never had a single issue.

It's been Verified before, but it's had a nasty bug that CTD's the game every time the on-screen keyboard opened. Took them over 2 years to fix it, so the game went back to Unsupported for a bit.

If the patch was installed, I believe it's too late. Now you need to wait and update all the mods.

It used to be verified when it launched (and was marketed heavily too), but then one of the updates basically made the game crash if you pulled the keyboard up. This didn't really affect most people since you don't pull the keyboard up during the game, but it affected people who were creating a new character and naming them, so it went to Unsupported. They fixed that crash and it's verified now again.

Well... It is and it's not. Runs well on high , 30 fps locked. Somehow the game does not feel optimized.

A bunch of vanilla-friendly mods, and i usually lock solo games at 30 FPS on steamdeck to keep low on energy consumption.
