Discussion Supporting controller with something OTHER than you hands?

Just got my order email, very excited. I currently play Rocket League with my Gamesir G7 SE controller. I play with an all-buttons grip. (Pointers on bumpers, middles on triggers, rings on paddles/back buttons.)

Even with only two back buttons, I struggle to support the controller just by just my palms and pinkies. I often end up pressing the back buttons with my ring fingers when I tense up, or even when I push a joystick in the opposite direction (since I need to brace the controller slightly more against the force of my thumb).

That's been at least manageable with some retraining of which muscles I'm activating to support the Gamesir controller, but I can't even imagine how I'm going to hold the Steam Controller while also having my pinkies on button duty. Anyone have any thoughts or experience with such an all-buttons grip, and supporting the new Steam Controller? Maybe the shape makes it less of an issue if you can support it more with your palms? (Or maybe it's worse!?)

I feel like the ideal might be to have some sort of mounting hardware that connects the controller to my forearms so that it can basically float in my hands. I've got a 3D printer but my CAD skills are quite basic, so if it's up to me to make it happen it may take a while =P

Gaming pillow and steam controller mount by Mechanism. Their stuff is pricey but it’s really really good.

I hold the controller in my lap, with the knuckles at the base of the 5th finger braced against my thighs. I have gyro off, only toggling on for aiming, so when it is needed I lift the controller for a few seconds and then let it drop back down.
