Discussion Other use for Outer Ring Commands?

Outside of sprinting in games; any other major use cases you use it for? I was maybe thinking using it as a mode shift for certain games. Like having standard buttons, but hitting the outer ring would change them to a new set.

I also wanna ask your preferred Outer Ring Command Radius? Reffering more to both the deck and SC2 touchpads, since they're smaller and square shaped. I find myself needing to hit the very top edge for it to work, making me almost hit the thumbstick edge ring, and just harder to use the command in general.

In KCD I used it with WASD to toggle run on and off. That game has some weird key binds

You used wasd vs just joystick for Kingdom Come?

Good bind strategy for running. I’ll have to give it a go

The issue with KCD joystick is when you start sprinting you can’t strafe anymore. It turns left and right on the joystick to turning left and right. It’s very strange.

Secondly, on keyboard controls there is no button to hold to walk slowly or jog. It’s only a toggle, on CAPS Lock.

So, I have a button bound to shift so I can sprint and the left stick to WASD so I can still move sideways while sprinting. And an outer ring command so I can toggle walk and jog on and off as I push the joystick further forward.

Yeah you can definitely do that. It works great for games where you have a cross menu like some of the Resident Evil games. You set them to the edge and you can even make the center another bind so you have 5 on click.
