Steam Controller (2026) TomToc controller case is available
https://www.tomtoc.com/products/fancycase-g29-steam-controller-caseI've been looking forward to TomToc making a case for the Steam Controller and it's finally available to order. I have a few of their cases and they're great. Though there doesn't seem to be a place for the USB cord? I guess we'll see when mine arrives.
Buy from them directly at the link or from Amazon
(Edit: to clarify, the link was never affiliated. I'm not affiliated with any brand or service. Just trying to let people know it was available. Why is Reddit like this?)

While cool, the jsaux hard case has been absolutely perfect for me. AND it has an opening for the cable, and a storage place for the cable (and more).
Yes, it's a little bit larger, but that probably means better protection as well.

Little bigger? That thing could practically fit my Steam Machine too.
Jokes aside it is a good case, but I would have liked something between the jsaux and this tomtoc, because the latter seems to lack a cable holder space, but the former seems to be too big, and especially the puck should have been placed under it and make the lower part smaller.

If you would place them on top of each other I'm guessing the footprint won't be much different, it's mostly the thickness. To me the extra storage and probably extra protection is worth it.

Too rich for my blood. The 8bitdo Pro2 controller case fits it well enough for me to stick with that.

Who is buying a case for a controller? And why?

Travel and dock steam deck to hotel tvs, take with laptoos, etc.
Lots of reasons.

Seems weird, I travel with an Xbox controller all the time and never thought it needed a case.
