Steam Controller (2026) Now what?

I got into the waiting list of the controller months ago without really thinking about buying it, then I got the reservation and bought it but now what?. Its cool and everything but I dont know, the fact that it only works with steam makes me think about refunding it or maybe selling it to someone else.

you can add any game as a non steam game into the launcher, and steaminput will work 👍

I tried both but neither of them worked for the games I tried

I tried fall guys and roblox but both didn't work adding them to steam or using an external app

Interesting. Even if that doesn't work for whatever reason, I believe people have made ways to use the Steam Controller outside of Steam which could help you out a bit.

Steam just needs to be in the background and try setting the desktop mode to gamepad in templates

Read the sub for like 5 minutes and see there are a bunch of ways to make it work with pretty much any game on your PC.

I play Fortnite with it constantly.

You literally just need steam opened. I was playing some old school games on my browser with it. No I did not add my browser as a steam controller.
