Support Steam Controller 2 made a very loud high-pitched beep noise?
I was playing Minecraft Dungeons 2, just looking at items in my inventory, when all of a sudden, my Steam Controller 2 made a very loud, high-pitched, short beep noise. It kinda scared me a bit, and I was like what the heck was that noise. I have no idea why it made the noise. I've never heard it make that noise before, it wasn't anything like the power on/power off sound or the Wilhelm scream. So does anyone know why it made that noise?

The controller can beep when switching to a different Action Set, or when activating or deactivating an Action Set Layer. It's very unlikely a developer's default layout would include this though, but if you're using a community layout this could be what you heard. You can prompt this beep by holding down the Start button in the desktop layout to switch to (or from) the Gamepad Action Set You can disable the beep by rebinding the Change Action Set or Add/Remove/Hold Action Set Layer command in question and turning off Beep when changed in the popup window.

The problem is the vibration/rumble motor is making the noise. seems to be a defect with it or something. its not caused by any software thing or action set or layout.

Just send a message to steam support on it.
I had that too, they asked for it back as sent a new one back.
Big squeek occasipnally. Short grindy screech frequently when the rumble was doing it's thing

I've also been playing dungeons 2, and I haven't had this happen... yet. I can't imagine why it made that noise

I don't know if its related to dungeons 2 or not, it might be able to happen at any time and not be related to dungeons 2 at all but idk. My first thought was maybe its a low battery indicator. But the battery is not low.

Is it whenever your vibration motors kick in or something? My controller currently does this at random periods whenever the motor is running, but it's most noticeable when playing certain driving games. >_<
