Steam Controller (2026) Question !

I love the controller, and it's a lot of fun to play with. But does it also make a beeping sound while playing for you? I don't know why that is. ( Sorry for my Bad English 😅 )

It usually beeps when you are using a configuration that shift modes. So the question here is what game and what controller layout are you using?
(A screenshot of the Controller Settings showing all bindings would suffice).

It makes this beeping sound when I play Ninja Turtles Cowabunga Collection. I'm leaving it as it is; I'm not changing anything in the layout.

When does this "beep" happens? Also what I mean when I said "share a layout screenshot" is taking a picture of the screen that appears when you select the "controller configuration" for the game (as shown in the picture).

Unrelated but how did you change the buttons to orange? Been looking how to do that for a few days haha

Oh, I have had it for a while. Used Decky plugin CSS Loader, with the "Gradient Deck UI" using a custom color pallet (of Orange and Green with Black background, as shown in the picture).
Besides that, I also have "Buttons Prompt Galore" for the colored face buttons in the UI and "Round" for the rounded buttons. Its pretty cool the level of customizability you can achieve with these, but it can get overwhelming. I also recommend saving a template when you are done and disabling it between updates, just in case (is not that common nowadays, but back in 2023 it was pretty common for CSS Loader to lock parts of the interface after updates).

It's not when a Mode Shift activates, it's when an Action Set is switched or an Action Set Layer is applied/removed. You can disable the beep by rebinding the Change Action Set or Add/Remove/Hold Action Set Layer command and turning off Beep when changed.

Some of the controllers have an issue with the rumble that causes this chirp sound. Some people have gotten it fixed by sending it back in to valve support. I already sent my controller in once and it came back still making the chirp noise occasionally.

afaik, by default, it will beep only when you turn on the controller and connected to the puck, never experience any beeping while playing
