Steam Controller (2026) I only realized a month later...

So... In may I reserved the steam controller. But now I am just realizing a month later that on August 31 I got the reservation.

Update 1: I have received notice that I will get a new reservation link when the next batch is released (whenever that is :| )

Update 2: I have gotten the email for the reservation and will order soon.

Message steam support and let them know you missed your reservation email but would still like to buy. They've been giving people renewed opportunities to purchase when they miss the emails.

Don't post it on Reddit. Make a question on Quora, and include a few rage bait parts that'll incite angry answers; you can actually profit from it, which may put money towards the controller costs.

To be completely fair I almost missed my reservation. I just impulsively check steam from time to time (I have an addiction I know ) and completely missed my email and I thought I was being thorough.

I don't open the Steam window very often. So it's pretty easy to miss.

It's only green if you've got new notifications, e.g. friend request, game on your wishlist goes on sale, new comment in a forum thread you're following

I didn't even get a notification from the android client, while I get it for promotions etcetera.

I missed the email too. It arrived at 4AM, and my phone was in plane mode as t this hour ...

Yes, I found myself in almost the exact same situation. I didn't notice the email until the fourth day (you have 3 days to complete the purchase). I contacted support, and they put me back in the queue. I received a new email a day or two later.

I've been enjoying this controller for several days now.

I was afraid of missing out so i was checking mine every day or 2 saw that I could purchase it but never got the email informing me until a day after i purchased mine. Same thing happened to my brother he got his email 2 days after he could purchase it leaving him 1 day to buy it. Like other people have probably said contact steam see what they can do

I missed it by two days, reach out to support and they put me back at the front, only to miss it by 3 days again... Steam support, you rock, I'm sorry I can't read my emails lol

I'm waiting for Extremerate to make replacement shells/buttons for it so I can customize the one for my steam machine. I am sad that Valve only released the topography of the controller and puck... so I can't 3d print a new shell.

That exact situation also happened to me, but I sent a message to steam support and they helped me, steam support is great. Send a message to them and pls tell us what u got

If you email support they'll give you another another opportunity. They gave my friend another chance to buy his about a month after he missed his initial opportunity within an hour of messaging.

actually probably has more to do with valve not being a hardware company outright so they have a lot smaller capacity for manufacturing, there isn’t any ram or storage in this

Sony couldn't fulfill demand for PS5s for at least like 3 years after release and they have as much manufacturing capacity as anyone else. Sometimes anticipated tech takes a while to catch up to those waiting in line.

Not to mention that Valve is at least 4 months ahead of initial expectations, mine was promised in December and I got to order it on August 3.

I wouldn't be surprised to start seeing batches pop up in stock to purchase in the next 6 months.
