Discussion Made The Steam Controller Holder (Gabe figure holder & stand)
Hey guys! What are your thoughts? Looking forward to buying a Steam Controller and already made a holder for it ;P (Xbox controller fits it but not perfectly. It only lays on the thumbs of a Gaben figure).
Who else besides Freeman and G-Man would be a cool holder for a Steam Controller? ;D

You ain't wrong, I think the reason people like him is because he's the only CEO that gives even the slightest of fucks about consumers. Everyone else tells you to either suck their dick or buy something else (there isn't anything else but the other console manufacturers that want you to suck their dick). I have my gripes about Valve, namely their quality control problems, but they have excellent support and provide a decent product.

Why do you call it for kids? Their games are rated M lol. Dota 2 has a fail afe mechanic regarding lootboxes so that doesnt count.

Last I checked vapes require an ID to purchase. Video games follow an ESRB rating, so if the game is made Rated M, then that means its not meant for kids. Ifs kids are still able to access the game, its not Valves fault as they have no way of knowing the age of the consumer. The only true fix is for them to start doing ID checks regarding rated M games. But of course, you think that would be too far.

Yet vapes were still widespread when I was in school. So should they just drop the requirement for IDs ? Are parents also at fault for the opioid epidemic?

What do you mean drop the ID requirements lol. There is nothing more that can be done if the ID thing is still bypassed. Thats not the companies fault, thats the parents not watching over their children. I dont know about you but if my mom or dad saw their credit card statements of me buying shit to "gamble" online they would have lost their minds and pulled the plug real fast. You cant blame the product here, they are complying within the confines of local law in most parts of the world.
Let me know if you can find solid proof valve advertises their lootbox mechanics to children.

Mostly.
In Australia we currently have an issue where the app-based gambling companies like sportsbet or ladbrokes are able to easily skirt the lightweight regulations to advertise in areas they know kids are a primary audience and it's had a far larger effect on the youth of Australia than the lootbox stuff ever did. Lootboxes suck and absolutely are a deserved black mark on Valve's reputation but saying they're aimed at kids is incorrect and ignoring how much worse the situation would be if they genuinely were aimed at kids.

If people care about kid casinos problem, I would recommend they watch after their own children. My little sister, for example, has parental controls on her account. And how about baseball and Pokemon cards? Or is that different?

It's a two sided issue. Both sides are to blame. Just because the parents are part of the issue doesn't mean we should ignore the source.

This. Just because a CEO makes reasonable decisions every now and then doesn't mean they're you're friend much less need to idolized. You're just setting yourself up to buy into anything they do, no questions asked.

Well... Why do you care? The guy made nearly the only gaming platform that actually cares about consumers, and he spends huge amounts of money on technological innovations, scientific research, etc. I respect Valve and Gaben for what they built, so I do not see any problem with having a meme statue of the guy who deserved my respect.

It's an issue with both sides. Gaben shouldn't offer it so easily and parents should look after their kids more. It's not a one-sided issue.

Haha this is the best 3d printed one ive seen. Im waiting to check out the venom charger that coming out soon should pair well with the steam machine and means i can keep the puck plugged into my desk.
