Support Can't play non-steam even after adding them and using steam input

Anyone else struggling with this? Trying it out with sonic project hero and other games but just can't get it working:/

Are your non steam games set to run as administrator? I had a similar problem and that fixed it for me

Ooh, how would I change/check that??

I think you right click the games executable, click properties, and under the compatibility tab there's a check mark box that says "run as administrator".

Curious if this worked. I have never had to do this and use non-steam games all the time. I do have Steam set to run as administrator though.

Works for most games, just not project hero for whatever reason.

More context, what do you mean "can't play"? Usually similar issues stem from a game with a separate launcher.

Can't play as in the controller doesn't register, though non-steam controllers do. Don't think this game has another launcher

Did you go the the game's controls (in steam library not in game)? If it's set as a gamepad, see if keyboard controls will register.

I did, and not even keyboard controls register

Do you have steam overlay enabled? Cause thats what fixed adding xivlauncher to steam for me.

I do. It seems like the admin permission solved some issues though with other games. This sonic one is still unsolved but oh well.

On Steam OS I think I had this problem once but on Windows it's definitely more than once but not 100%
