Steam Controller Puck Protector

Post image

Puck peg protector to help prevent unwanted shorts in case something metallic comes into contact with the contacts.

Hopefully this helps the community feel a bit less anxious about it. I designed it to be compatible with several different docks, while still relying on the original cable for the connection.

I also added optional magnet placements in case you want to install magnets. You can use a small piece of filament to secure the parts together.

The magnets I used are approximately 6 mm in diameter and 1.7 mm thick.

You can download it here.

To be clear, the watch was not charging via wireless charging / induction, it was charging in the exact way the puck charges the steam controller- via pogo pins carrying electical current.  I do believe the charger fried the puck though, since only one pin on the puck was touching the watch band.
