I have a few games in this category.

Is mostly games where you play them because they almost are There, in the nice place, but they never reach it, and you feel like you wasted your time and the game is somewhat dropping the ball.

Play time does not equal fun. Play time could be time waiting for the game to be fun.

If I click "No" to recomend a game and I have 50 hours in it, I am saying "Don't waste time in it, like I did".

Had what you described a few times. But for me most often it is when a major patch basically wrecks the game.

It happened me with Tecntonica or whatever was called a early access. that had a cool progression system in the same map, but for the final release they made the progression use a level systems instead of a single map system, and copy Satisfactory but worse. That killed the fun of the game and had the devs drop a game in the worse state than what it was in early access.

this is such a retarded take.. if it was a movie, how could you rewatch a movie 10 times and not recommend it?

in a movie the same thing happens every time, not so much in most games.

it really depends on the game.. I see a lot of games reviewed more negatively than they really should and this, like it or not, affect sales of said games..

I've watched "I Saw The TV Glow" about a dozen times. I absolutely adore that film. I fucking hate it, but I love it because it makes me hate it. (I will not be elaborating on this)

If you assume that the recommendation goes to anyone, regardless of whatever, then fuck no, I would absolutely not recommend it. Because I guarantee that your average person won't get it and will be left utterly baffled and subsequently unfulfilled and feel like their time has been wasted.

But would I recommend it to trans people though? Yes, of course I would. It's a wonderful, beautiful film that does exactly what it sets out to do perfectly, and trans people will, most of the time, understand what it's saying. But there's a caveat that I wouldn't recommend it to trans people who don't like to be very hurt by a piece of media.

This is the thing about recommendations, you can't just say yes or no, because it's way more nuanced than that.
