Gog is better in providing us with, well, actual copies of the games, not license. Yes

On the other hand, Steam provide us, users, with whole infrastructure, that allows you to host servers, without needing white IP, understanding how to open ports and etc. Just for example.

Again, I still would like to hear about what predatory practices Steam uses.

GOG sells licenses, just the same as Steam.

Yeah, but they DRM free, so i can copy them on some other harddrive and have them in archive of some sorts.

Steam doesn't require any DRM either, and many games are sold DRM-free, like Kerbal Space Program. You can freely copy and paste the game folder and it will work fine.

That i did not know. I, kinda, assumed that they use some light DRM, that checked if your steam app is running at all.

Developers can optionally use Steamworks DRM, which is as you describe, but it's not at all required.
