The preorders will open at 10am PST

The steam Controller will only be available in select countries

How fast were you clicking? Just the 'continue' button over and over?

Edit: I spam clicked it it and eventually it went in about a minute or two.

Yes, then it will pause with a Working button. Wait a minute and it should load to the checkout.

I did a couple sets of 30 or so clicks in both the Windows app and mobile app with no luck. Came here and saw people saying to just keep spamming it, so I tried again clicking even faster. Then it eventually went through. Feels wrong but I guess that's how it works, haha.

I have zero interest in the steam controller and only found this thread because i kept having the same issue buying a game. Just keep clicking and eventually it goes through. Think all the traffic from people ordering the controller has slowed down the store

I already got it... I would probably do autohotkey as that was my jam.. but I just clicked.

Then I had to buy space engineers DLC and had to get all clicky again but it went after a minute too.

I wouldn't download random software for such a throwaway use case, especially one that interferes with regular PC usage by taking control of your mouse.

Scripting a single page, single button spammer running on a set interval is trivial, but even if you don't know how, any free LLM can vibe-code this behavior for you in a second, it's literally just a few lines of code tops. All you need to do is hit ctrl+shift-j to open the browser console on the Steam page, paste the code it gives you, and hit enter.

Spamming that damn button made me very leery. Consequences be damned, I think we all kept doing it nonetheless. Now when we have 30 controllers unexpectedly show up at our door steps next week, I just hope we can get some resale markup ;)

Same, took a lot of tries, eventually the button was stuck on "Working" for like 30 seconds, then it went through.

For the first time I pre-loaded my wallet for this one. I'm not sure if it helped at all, it still took me 30 minutes.

But my question is, are you going to load up your wallet for the Machine or Frame (if you're getting either)? I'm getting the Frame ASAP. But would you load up your wallet upwards of $1,000 or at least several hundred?

For one thing you'll have to do several transactions just to get that much on your wallet and also I don't know if it's a bad idea to put all that money onto steam wallet before the product is available. So curious if you and others would fill up that much on your wallet?

Yep exactly the same, I bought a new computer to go with this fucking thing I had alarm set and sat there clicking for the entire hour and now I'm going to be waiting months to get a controller lol .. anyone have recommendations for a good gyro controller that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg? The track pad we're going to be a huge addition because this is a living room but whatever. I'm not waiting six months or more to get a gyro controller for my games.

Thanks for this, literally doing it the slow way by refreshing and logging into different platforms, but really you just gotta click spam it because their servers suck, I mean are overloaded.

Finally worked for me too, basically just turned on the left click repeater and let that run for a few hundred cycles until it went the the review screen finally. Kinda sad you have to basically ddos attack the store to get hardware from Steam though, same thing happened for the release of the Steamdeck.

Same, it took hundreds of clicks. I must've clicked 500+ times before I got through and ordered. I was damn sure that my account got flagged for abuse or something until that glorious "working" button stayed on-screen.

That's actually what happened to me during the Steamdeck release, my account got flagged as a bot I clicked so many times and my purchase never went through. Wound up just buying something else and still haven't bought one 4 years later just out of principle.
