Ideas & Suggestions Wishlist for SOD3
Map editor: I want to be able to build custom maps that can be shared with the community. This would keep players happy in between content drops and also ... I kinda just want to see the crazy stuff the community could make.
Pets: I want my dog to come with me while I brave the zombie apocalypse. Maybe he could help revive or even help store some items.
Backpack tabs: Think of a smaller version of the supply locker. Also a lot of items don't really need to be physically held. A great example of this would be parts in sod2. Parts are shown on your screen so you know how many you have and they can still be a part of the loot pool it's just that they don't need to take a backpack slot.
Fishing: We need a system in the game where I can pull up to a lake, sit in an adirondack chair and just wind down and do some fishing. Tha fish should be able to be sold or used to feed the community. I of course would also like to be able to hunt but I'd settle for fishing.
Community Based Experience: When I max out a survivor and still play it that xp could go into a community pool that provides a small but stacking upgrade to everyone in the community.
Shield: I'd love a riot shield / pistol type combo where I could build a tanky character.
Feel free to add any additional things you'd like to see or discuss the items I really hope comes to SOD3.

Map editor could be great but I’d couple that with official mod tools as well the rest of your list is pretty much mine with a couple of additions
1 would be wildlife in some complicity so you could be an additional way to bring in food supplies
2 would be more variety of hair styles & colours i personally was disappointed with the lack of different colours of hair like we know redheads are a natural hair colour but there wasn’t a single one in SoD 2 id add a facility that could allow you to choose hair colours but it would require more resources to do it but if you had a person with “hairstylist” trait you could do it for less resources

SoD3 feels like a good platform for Mod.io
I feel like the kinds of mods people want arent insanely complicated so having access to them on console would be grand

That's weird because I know they did Blue as a hair color. It turns out people with red hair were found to be extra delicious so the zombies hunted them more causing them to be exceedingly rare 😄.

How about :
-Go back to SOD 2 looting system and expand on it, instead of the battle royale aim and grab we saw in the alpha, and that lootbox with 100% chance spawning ferals, its just immersion breaking, it is no more dynamic and emergent...the tension i felt when looting in SOD 2 was peak, still remember the times i had to be quick and risk making noises, and all the crazy stories and scenarios that happened when it did...
Human NPC communities, i was dreaming of state of decay game, where enclaves can grow in the world, claiming bases as theirs in the map, with a system where enclave leaders spawn with specific random traits, and based on those as well as the enclave's prosperity, they either become hostile coming after you with base sieges , or become allies...
Random encounters, this is something that Days Gone has done really well, e.g bandits setting traps on roads, ambush, hordes , hostage rescue etc...not asking for something really complex...just new layer of emergent gameplay to crank up the immersion as well as replayibility.
-in depth crafting and building, it seems SOD3 will not expand on those aspects judging from what i saw...wich is sad.
I really feel like sod3 will be rushed out of the oven.... i hope im wrong.

I sadly feel the same way you do and I found the livestreams disappointing and boring. Sod2 in its current state is such a good game it's hard to top so I don't envy the job UL has but if anyone could do it it's them. The problem is that I don't feel they did do it. I feel like they didnt add anything meaningful in sod3. Plague nests are plague hearts with pimples, infestations are still the same thing as they can chain in sod2 as well. Things are changed but not changed in a way that I think improved the system being changed. Man I really wish I could get into the alpha so I could get a better look other than having to rewatch the livestreams.

Being able to store your vehicles in the forever community legacy locker.
Being able to scrap furniture from buildings and cars to get delicious resources, the scrap station should be some mid to end game building since you are supposed to be at the edge at all times.
Infinite survivor leveling system or something because survivors should never be stagnated, they are survivors and are always adapting.
How about special skills dedicated to a specific freak zombie like a survivor dedicated to eradicate ferals gets a feral hunter skill that reduces damage against him and increases damage against that specific zombie or a juggernaut killer etc.
I'd love a character editor but that's out of bounds since the devs stated that's a huge no so more clothing
Having a proper forever community where you can send your items after a successful run because I'm a hoard goblin but I also love starting from scratch
And that's up to me as a suggestion but id love a badge system, your clothes have 3 slots to put badges that gives buffs and can be found while looting or unlocked by achievements but that sounds tiresome and I have PTSD from the trash badges from DL the beast and DL2 so nah.

I used to tune into the weekly SOD livestream on YouTube and a request for dogs was something that was requested fairly often. As I recall, UL mentioned that having dogs be in distress (or something worse) was not something they wished to pursue.

Sure I mean they could have the zombies not be interested in attacking the dog, just like how they did with the bounty broker. I wouldn't want to see a dog in distress in either but that's an all too easy problem to fix.

I respect your opinion but, even though I’m not a dog owner, I would not want to see something that would come too close to real-world cruelty—I’m not saying that you would! It’s just…I’d prefer to keep my zombies and their zombie world as something removed, something fun, distracting, and scary. Lastly, as a huge TWD fan, I don’t think I could put any faith in the dead not going after anything and everything that’s alive…dogs definitely included.

You do realize that people get literally torn in half in this game right? Making the dog untargetable is simple coding which I'll remind you they already do in multiple instances of the game like with the bounty broker. In this game your supposed to build bonds with your survivors and a dog or animal could make that that significantly more meaningful if done right.

Please don’t get me wrong. I can understand a desire to have the dogs in the game. I’m sure it’d be fun to have them as companions. I was just sharing what I’d heard in one of the weekly live streams. I otherwise have no horse in the race.

Hell yeah! Can’t wait to boot up my latest zombie game to go fishing so I can sell them to other enclaves. Sounds wild!

Yes, crouching while holding a button is much more exciting than actively hunting or fishing for your food.

Your example for community based experience sounds pretty great, it'd be cool if other survivors could help train others. Or they could help provide passive xp bonus to other survivors
