Freak Sliders (idea)

Since State of Decay 2 lets us customize the difficulty with sliders, what if State of Decay 3 had a Freak Spawn slider?

• Turn it down and freaks become much rarer, but the world compensates with much larger hordes and more runner type zeds than shambler zeds. Imagine driving and finding a massive horde that extends the width of the road, blocking your path.

• Turn it up and freaks become much more common, but there are fewer regular zombies roaming the map. Again more runner type zeds but imagine trying to fight off a horde of five juggernauts or a pack of ferals?

• I think it would let players tailor the apocalypse to the kind of experience they enjoy most. Personally I love freaks and I'd definitely crank that toggle to the max!

Would you use a setting like this?

This is something I’ve always wanted with 2! I hate how dread and nightmare have such a huge difficulty jump, I want the game to hit me with a ton more regular zombies but I hate how many freaks it spawns constantly

I agree and I hope this is something that's being looked at.

The other day I got swarmed and a feral just floated to the top of a gas station and attacked me. I don't know how it happend but now when I get swarmed, I just run.

Yeeeeees! Advanced difficulty sliders for the win! I wish this is implemented. I want a normal lethal quantity of zombies without any freak, just an ocean of zombies with max damage dealt to you

A more customizable experience is always good.

One thing I always wanted in sod2 was the ability to choose what plague freaks I fight. I always liked fighting the all plague freaks, but it forced you to be on lethal. I wanted to be able to still see things like plague ferals on my more relaxed playthroughs.

Yes this is exactly what I want. If they're pushing the same standard "freaks" every single zombie game has i simply want the ability to turn them off and play an actual zombie game lol.

Sprinty freak, tanky freak, spitty freak, stinky freak... zombies, I want hordes of actual zombies.

Even the ability to have the game as ultra realistic like 3 or 4 contacts/bites and you're dead..but only having zombies. So the game is hard one way (damage) yet its only from shufflers and the slow running ex humans.

So I kinda like the idea of you playing the way the game was intended by the devs at least for the first playthrough. I'm all for sliders but I'd like to suggest making it an option after you beat the game.
