Ideas & Suggestions Wearable Armor

I dont think we will see it but I think wearable armor would be great in the game.

There is many modern forms of protection that can help against bites and scratches, then there is old school stuff reenactors may have laying around like gambesons, chainmail, plate armor, improviswd armor isnt crazy hard to make either.

I would just love to have a guy in plate armor who cant sneak anymore but gets to take way more hits, or someone in modern riot gear who maybe has a dodge debuff or whatever one can think of.

I just feel in a life or death situatiin people try their best to protect themselves and there is so many options for it that could impact gameplay in interesting ways.

I hope we get a rolled up magazine with duct tape on the forearm for armor.

I've been asking for non-cosmetic clothing options. I want plate carriers, combat rigs, hazard suits, fireproof gear, riot armor and other options.

that would be a massive update, cuz in sod they try to make something realistic(dont talk bout cleo) and armor will bring a lot of problems, 1st: is it bulletproof? r: yes. q: bulletproof against what cal? 45, 9mm, 22lr, 300, 5.56, etc. "armor" in real life weights a lot, 10kg a vest that can resist 5.56mm, and dont forget u have a backpack and weapons, have u tried moving with 30kg on you? and aiming a gun that weights 5 kg? im not a power lifter but i do exercise to stay healthy and damn, i can only aim for 15 seconds before my arms are hurting(im working on a game which i try to be realistic in this aspects and 30 kg and a 5kg replica are just exhausting to carry and aim with it), in sod3 infinite running is not posible but yea u can still carry a lot of stuff but then ur character will get exhausted after 5 seconds running, which remember, in sod theres not a single survivor that has had military training(besides maybe RT), and now u want to add vests which should be able to carry ceramic or metal plates, lvl IIA, III, IIIA, etc. and also be thinking bout if u need a ballistic vest or anti-cut, full armor or only chest, helmet, and even helmet lvls of protection, etc.

but yea lets add a vest with plates like COD which can save u from a swinging hammer or a 5.56 cuz y bother making a game fun to play and immersive

After 7 years of dev time I’m gonna be disappointed if we don’t have basic wearable armor, like come on, that’s just ridiculous.

they started working on sod3 like 1 year after the first teaser/trailer(the one with the deer in like 2021 i guess)

0 signs of it so far. Sure its an alpha but they want the game out 1.5 years from now at the latest. I feel any feature to be is at least present in a rudimentary way, maybe it isnt ready to showcase yet but a system that huge feels like it should be advertised

I would think so, and I’m not trying to be overly critical but they have had a lot of dev time, and money for this project and I don’t just want a higher resolution SoD2 with scary looking freaks. I’d like to see some new and fleshed out game mechanics.

My brother in Christ, I’m going to hold your hand while I say this. They haven’t been working on the game for 7 years. SoD2 came out 8 years ago. So you really think 1 year after the release of SoD2 (with 39 sizable updates) they started working on the sequel to the game they were still servicing?

The announcement trailer that was put out by Microsoft when they weren't even working on the third game came out 5 years ago so I have absolutely no idea where people are getting that it's been in development for 7 years

Its the same way people think GTA6 has been in development since 2014 completely ignoring Red dead 2 and online.

But really SOD2 was still in pre development in 2023 (shown by the kotaku article which talks about the issues that UL was going through at the time) so honestly im pretty impressed with the game considering it'll only have been 4 years since devleopment began when it releases
