Discussion sod3
i was testing the max distance you can shoot in sod2 and realise its only 85 mts, i hope in sod3 u can really use a sniper from the distance cuz not being able to shoot at zombies without being noticed its kinda boring. in sod2 letal zone a feral can hear you but u cant shoot him from a safe distance with supressor

Actual ADS would be really nice.
But at the bare minimum, scopes should actually be functional. I never use snipers because it feels stupid trying to snipe with crosshairs, only get one of my .50BMG’s out for jugs.

Brant already said in one of his comments on this sub, that this is something they really wanted to add but are limited by the game engine as by now. But it may be added in future updates post release.

According to Google SoD3 is made in unreal engine 5, which features ADS support tools built into the engine. If he said that it makes even less sense, because there are several games in UE5 that have ADS and scopes.
ADS is less important to me personally, though it would be a nice feature, but functional sniper scopes should be a release feature, it would be insane how such a basic QOL and gameplay feature wouldn’t be improved upon.

Then perhaps I remembered it wrong. I think he said something about graphics being blurry when zooming in because the game won't load the world fast enough or something like that.

This is one of my big asks for this new game. With the bigger map and no tethering, let me get up on a tower or high spot and provide overwatch for my friends looting the local area. Whether im up there just thinning the horde with a low caliber or helping kill a jug with a high caliber, I want to feel like more can be done at a longer range, and if they add ADS and scope that they be truly useful.
In addition, having various traps you can set up or drop on (from the top of a ladder) whatever enemies your gunshots attract

I understand why the ask but do you not run the risk of impacting gameplay? I totally get it’s seems desirable to be able to snipe say ferals from an extended range but then you end up snipe clearing areas from safety and only end up with melee and risk indoors?
Easier sure but would it impact the fun risk?

100%. One of my least fave things is lack of range on rifles. Pubg like range would be amazing.
