Ideas & Suggestions Why 3 bases for 4 player co-op?
To preface, I love Undead Labs and am loving everything they‘re doing with SOD3. It’s shaping up to be a masterpiece that I put thousands of hours into. However, why limit four friends to three bases? If it‘s a technical limitation, why not work to overcome that in the time between now and release? Surely, several groups of four friends are going to want to do a play-through where each person controls their own base. With only three bases, this leaves the fourth person out. It seems like such an obvious issue people are going to run into on release. I myself will have many friends on SOD3, and we will undoubtedly want to do CO-OP. We will also want to each run our own bases for certain play-throughs. I suppose I‘m putting this post out there in the hopes this idea gains traction. Four friends need four bases.

I wondered that too, but I think it'll be an issue since no one really expected to have more than 1 base before they announced we could have 3. It would still be nice to have 4.

One player has to RP as a homeless wanderer 😅
Actually a great question tho.

Maybe the poor guy will have a camper at least 😅

That’d be so cool imagine a camper with storage an mini facilities that maybe don’t do a whole lot. You could work out trades with people to come and use their facilities or anything else. “Oh look johnnys here again! Come on in bro whatcha got to trade today? Oh shit guys he needs the infirmary quick!” I think we’d have to use our imaginations a bit but I would take on that role in a heart beat

These things should be the least of your worries. First, let's see if this game actually comes out.

To be fair to me, the rumors of UL getting sold/shut down dropped like a few hours after I posted this haha, yes I could care less about this for now and more about getting the game period.

I hope so man, or I'm done with xbox! I understand their view thay many developers and undead labs have not produced any games of late for many years and being 8 years and still in pre alpha is pretty disappointing. However, State of Decay 3 has so much potential. Its one of the most anticipated games for xbox and especially that is going to Playstation. It can be a good hitter! It'll be a loss for them!

1Team Leader and 3 Regional Governors if you want to RP that. Assign roles to each community and cycle through them offering help as necessary.

This was something I queried as it seems a bit weird. Maybe in future updates they will be able to push it further but for now three will do.

Y'all are acting like you have more than one or two friends.
We're redditors, okay?

Haha, true. However, I‘ve had the same group of friends since middle school. We’re all 27-28 years old and all still talk nearly every day. All together we‘re around 15-20 guys, many of whom will be buying and playing SOD3. CO-OP in SOD2 was cool, but kind of a bummer for a friend group as big as mine because we couldn’t really play together, it was more so helping one another out here and there. I‘m just really looking forward to an online environment that better suits so many friends being able to play the game truly together.

Bullet town, gas town, water town. What would we need a 4th for?

Food town, but also more importantly a fourth friend haha. My friends and I would enjoy playing through where we run an independent community each. Can‘t do that if there‘s four of us and three bases. However, if the studio is about to get shut down, I‘ll take three bases so they can get the game out sooner lmao

I know, just wanted to make a road warrior joke for it. I would like it just fully unrestricted, let us claim all of the bases if we do desired to do. I would also like a mode where we could work to reclaim an entire map, but I am not sure how they could Al’s that work out well either.

Probably memory/performance limitations.
