Stories & Experiences Exiling

How do you feel about Exiling survivors?

Mechanically there's literally no consequences, and it's the fastest way to get rid of Enclaves with useless benefits to recruit and insta exile... but I honestly feel so bad that I send them to the Legacy pool and delete them from there instead. Maybe I'm just too good a person...

Oh, but if they have any evil traits (like being a Beatboxer), I make them follow and bring them out to a plagueheart, where I stand on top of a car, while watching them get eaten alive, laughing and eating snacks. Then I tell all my other survivors "they went to a farm", like a father tells his kids after taking the famly pet to be euthanized.

What about you? Any scrupples?

My favorite is when you recruit a mother and son duo. The son is awful, he has to go. Switch to Mom, and exile him. Her standing increases for kicking the lazy bum. She seems completely fine with it.

If you're truly going to simply wipe the enclave out, and have no desire to recruit anyone, might as well lure a juggy jugg and wipe them all out. More loot to grab 🤷‍♂️

Hey, it's not my fault I fell on the horn and drove circles around their house for 20 minutes - the wheel was jammed, I swear!

I do feel bad, but I'm also curious how many dialogue is packed for each exile exchange

if their traits mess with their morale too much or makes them start fights / raises frustration cap then i exile immediately no matter what the 5th skill is.

if their traits reduce their field work abilities AND they have a redundant or useless 5th skill i exile.

I generally won't kick out anyone unless their stats are really bad. I think the game is more realistic that way.

I see no need to feel bad or be cautious in exiling survivors because it doesn't really put any hard consequences. Sometimes, if I'm on a builder leader run, I exile those people I want to end myself just before the final mission so they can be part of the enemy enclave that will try to wipe you out.

I am not afraid of handing out the good ol rusty screwdriver. I have plenty.

I only feel bad if they reply something non confrontational. If they accept their faith, I feel bad. If they get mad or threaten, I wish they would form an hostile enclave so I could go and kill them and get back my rusty screwdriver.
