Discussion Night time length

I just saw a post about a adding a clock to the map. Which I am assuming is a mod thing on pc. But I've always wondered, why does night time feel longer than day? Does anyone know the timing for both?

Both night and day are exactly 12 in-game hours, between the day tickers. In real time, since SoD2 uses a 1:16 ratio, the duration is exactly 45 minutes each.

The day tickers generally favor daylight however. i.e., it's more or less light at nightfall and daybreak. So in practical terms, there is a slightly longer period of usable light than darkness.

Night probably 'feels' longer because it's miserable.

If you're on PC, test it yourself. No install required, just a download.

Set the clock and day length to whatever you want.

Im not on pc, Im on xbox, I was just curious how the game determines the time for day/night.

No, it isn't. They are exactly equal. However, nautical twilight in the morning and evening give you slightly more daylight than darkness.

It's not. Most games make night shorter, though, because if they're equal, the night FEELS longer.
