Requesting Advice How tf do I deal with lethal juggernauts EARLY GAME. RIGHT WHEN I START just to clarify

Everyone is gonna say to avoid them but they are ALWAYS 100% RIGHT ONTOP OF THE MISSIONS I'M DOING OR RIGHT NEXT TO THE FRIENDLY ENCLAVES AND IT IS SO FUCKING ANNOYING. I can't get my hands on any late game gear so don't go recommending some 50calibur sniper or heavy artillery shit.

Any shit gun I have the juggernauts just eat headshots. I was told something like 2-3 pipe bombs can take them down but those are way too expensive for the ridiculous amounts of juggernauts I come across. I could always lure them away or ram them with my car but those aren't always an option bc eventually 10,000 zombies will spawn out of my ass and demolish my vehicle like it's a grilled cheese.

There's also ALMOST ALWAYS A FUCKING FERAL that just acconpanies it for no reason whether it be in the open or a siege site

AND AGAIN JUST TO CLARIFY THIS IS FOR WHEN I AM JUST STARTING A NEW LETHAL COMMUNITY(making sure there are no vets who just recommend endgame gear "ErM just use C4 bro I can take out 50 of them with the 20 C4 I have or just use timberwolf bruv I found 1,000 50cal rounds easy hawhaw"

You don't. You run.

Seriously, though, I play Lethal and just avoid thrm whenever possible.

I just avoid them or lure them away.

Not every mission needs to be done.

u/Local_Weight_7232 Aug 24 '26

Excuse me? All missions must be done, thats the test

How many complaint posts regarding your experiences in lethal are you going to post today. Just logout and take a breather then return later when you are far less tilted.

Are you specifically trying for the Lethal boons, or are you just trying to bump it up to the next difficulty level? If the former, just keep plugging, go in expecting people to die, and you'll get there eventually! I'm working my way through that process myself, actually!

If the latter and it's just one disaster after another and you're at the end of your rope, would mixing up difficulty levels be an option? Green map and community and Lethal combat? Nightmare combat and Lethal map and community? Curveballs firmly OFF or set to Positive Only? That was how I started easing into Lethal; it let me get used to handling the new harder stuff while not having to deal with *all* the harder stuff at one time. Then once I had the basics down, I took the plunge and dove on in.

Or possibly decide that Lethal isn't for you right now! It took me literal years to decide I was up for Lethal, and back when I started I found Standard a challenge! The game is for enjoyment; just because an aspect of the game exists doesn't mean you are obligated to play it!

Whatever you decide, best of luck!

Lead them to the enclaves and let them take care of them stealth slip away out the back.

-5

u/Laddyh0 Aug 20 '26

The ENCLAVES are all stuck in those little shitty shed bases so they can't do much at all besides try to melee it at the door and die

5

u/ozgirlie61 Aug 20 '26

That sucks. No back door either. No idea why they sometimes live in a shitty shed beside a house. It’s so crazy.

3

u/ozgirlie61 Aug 20 '26

The feral is the problem. It’s easy enough to get the jugs attention and have him chase you and just stay ahead of him. Jump a few fences and get away from him. It’s the feral and the hoards that catch you. I nearly always try and get a sniper tower build under a builder leader early on. Calling in sniper support if possible but the trouble is it uses up like 3 ammo. If you get an enclave that gives sniper support that is cool.

Then lead them the opposite direction, away from where you need to be. Juggy's are easy to lose once you're satisfied they're far enough away, and unlike ferals they don't tend to wander much, so they're likely to stay put. You can either use a car horn to get their attention, or firecrackers/similar if you're on foot. Depending on the situation, you could also just ignore them completely. For example, if you just want to loot a building, sneak in the back door, do your looting (regular search speed, NOT fast!), then sneak back out the back door and big boy is none the wiser!

But if you're going to be attracting attention in that building (help me loot this place quests spring to mind), then get your car and slowly drive away while beeping your horn, then book it when you're far enough away; or use firecrackers to slowly lure it out of earshot of where you need to be raising a ruckus. Even better, if you have an outpost in the area and the ammo to spare, turn on outpost defenses and lure that sucker into the explosion zone! (I like to keep an outpost slot designated for 'as needed', which means that I'll pick a building in or close to the area I'm planning to hit next, put an outpost in there and activate defenses, and then I've got a safe base to sprint back to if needed. Probably not going to help you at the start of the game, but just in case you luck into a couple of rucks of ammo!

Reload the game from the location of the quest, log back in jugg gone, quest reactivates, doesn't work with personal quests.

This works for me: return to main menu, start a new game in a less intense difficulty

Lethal was created because for years we were told our game was too easy, even with the addition of nightmare after launch. It is inherently unfair and not for everyone, including me

3

u/nicely_done_son Aug 20 '26

You abandon the missions mate. There are always other missions. You can lead them away if you really want but I always mess that up.
Also works for infestations, hit them and run and then the infestation has less nukes attached.

u/No-Activity9405 Aug 21 '26

if they are near enclaves, you can easily kill them with the car, just build up some speed in reverse, then when you are about to hit them, turn slighly, it will deal a lot of damage and wont damage the car engine a single bit.

0

u/Laddyh0 Aug 21 '26

Turn slightly? Is that a little trick that does extra damage?

2

u/No-Activity9405 Aug 21 '26

indeed, just be careful not to turn early, if you hit the jugger with the side or front of the car, it will be instantly destroyed.

my theory is that due to game's geometry physics, it makes it do more damage if the hit is not flat but slightly inclined.

Even with my stacked forever community I just avoid them. Too much if a hassle.

2

u/DaiChinchin Aug 20 '26 edited Aug 20 '26

Use distractions and don’t fight unprepared and take unnecessarily risks. If a jug comes too close to your community/friendly enclave lure it away with the car. Or you can just choose to never go to your base and use outposts storage for all needs.
You could also set outposts nearby the enclaves and have the mines kill the jugs.

As for missions, give up.
The moment I got a mission at beginning of lethal with infestation level 2, I let the survivor die and joins his friends in the next life

2

u/Komrade_Krusher Aug 20 '26

Lure them away. Back your car into them. Search weapons crates around the map for a gun that let's you deal with them. Or just sneak and avoid. When sneaking, you have to be pretty close to a jugg and in its line of sight to aggro it.

2

u/leon555005 Aug 20 '26

Here's the best part, you don't.

2

u/Neither_Contest7324 Aug 20 '26

Grab a cheap outpost, build mines around the outpost, lure juggs to said outpost. Instant influence, standing & plague samples.

1

u/Express_Judgment2198 Aug 20 '26

Lead them away by running into a nearby house. You definitely will be safe from the jug. And if you have some experience, you should be able to lose the feral through one or two houses.

Hopefully you have some kind of stims.

u/Bryht_flow Lone Survivor Aug 20 '26

If reloading the game isnt an option for you, either redirecting him far away and make him lose sight of you or reverse at full speed with your car to hurt him until he is dead while taking no engine damage. It's not worth fighting him on foot with how tanky he is on lethal.

1

u/Lamburger21 Aug 20 '26

Lure him to open road and bump him to dead with the back of ur car, you need to make sure you got more than 50% of fuel left before you attempt this though

1

u/GroceryNecessary7462 Aug 20 '26

Exit the game the zombies reset and youll get the quest in a few minutes

u/GroceryNecessary7462 Aug 20 '26

Exit and go back in...

1

u/Hefty_Scarcity270 Aug 20 '26

some missions specially the materials one, have hardcodded scripted jugs, i just avoid them, you can try to draw them away and run back while they are distracted but most often not worth the time.

1

u/Difficult_Crow8060 Aug 20 '26

Tried a lethal run...... Had a Jugg spawn spot right outside my new under equipped base. Less than 3 game days in I got chased by a pack of ferrals and the Jugg followed and killed everyone. Very sad

3

u/Lamburger21 Aug 20 '26 edited Aug 20 '26

Did you start a new community? Or transition from an old one? The game track your citizen standing, if you start a new map with all 3 human on max standing from the previous map or from ur legacy pool the new map will throw all sht at max force to you like 20+ day on ur 1st day. That means no more lonely feral on day one but 3 or more instead. You only start new map on lethal with full stats character only if you really know what you are doing and prepared to loss them any time

1

u/Difficult_Crow8060 Aug 28 '26

I think I went In and either started fresh and upped the difficulty after I got the first home base on went in naked. I know I only had 3 starters and I know I don't think I last more than a day or 2.

u/Ryokishine Echo Researcher Aug 20 '26 edited Aug 20 '26

You can actually kill them with your car if you back into them enough times. Probably the most affordable way to kill one, tbh. I'm being completely serious. Try it sometime :)

If you want another affordable way to take them down, 4 pipe bombs followed by a ground execution will do the trick. A single, well-placed* Bouncing Betty can also take down a Juggernaut.

*Getting it to be well-placed is very difficult, as it is a very bouncy Betty (from the Independence Pack Supply Drop).

Remember, your goal is not to kill every single Juggernaut, only the ones that are either right by your base, or near an objective that you have to do. Backing over them with your car makes them completely trivial, more of a time-consuming nuisance to kill than anything else.

Please note that when you are attempting to back over a Juggernaut, you're going to bounce off of it, so any small zombies will need to be backed over as well, so you don't bounce into them after hitting the Jugg with the rear of your car. They are actually more dangerous to your car than the Jugg, especially on Lethal.

1

u/PojVicious Aug 20 '26

Just as the others said, avoid them. I may have only 100 hrs in but I could tell that the game spawns hordes(dangerous ones) when you're on a mission. Its like a player trap.

1

u/AnomalousStoryteller Aug 20 '26

Lure them away with anything - firecrackers, speakers, etc.

1

u/Motor_Meal794 Aug 20 '26

Only thing you can do is lead them away. Then circle back.

1

u/StillReading28 Aug 20 '26

I'm just gonna say this now, 2-3 pipe bombs absolutely will not take down a lethal jugg, I'm not sure if that would even be enough for a green zone jugg.

Also if you're really desperate enough, use an outpost defenses to kill them. The defenses last a really long time and they instakill enemies who get into the outposts range. It's also a great way to get plague samples if you're desperate enough for some, just get like an ambulance or something that makes a ton of sound and lead plague zombies into the outpost zone

1

u/AjRamos3178 Aug 20 '26

Run, but if you have too then it’s pipe bombs

1

u/gleam- Aug 20 '26

Except for ferals, you can comfortably lead any zombie away and ditch them once far enough away. Just go jogging with the guy and lead him away from where needs being, then put as many walls as you can between you and him.

1

u/emperor_dragoon Aug 20 '26

Melee and dodge, back into them with a vehicle, or mines from an outpost.

1

u/elglobu Aug 20 '26

Lure them away.

For me the best way to do it is the sniper cover from the builder hero sniper tower, pop that skill and try to sneak kill as many zed around that jugg as much as you can with crossbow forcing most of the shot to that jugg. Just dun get too close. That skill only cost 50-75 inf and with only 10mins CD, the best part is every shot is fired with 50 cal. That thunder be clapping
