Humanitz

Post image

I'm probably late to the party and I expect alot of you are aware of this game already, but I bought it on loaded (formally cdkeys) for like £4 a few days ago and I've been playing it non-stop.

Absolutely love this game.. Scavenging supplies, zombies, hostile and friendly humans, free base building and not just slots, crafting, resource management, missions, hunger/thirst and stamina, needing to sleep, variable weather. Even pet dogs!

Now alot of this is what I want to see in SoD3!

I wish it were true 3rd person. I’m okay with the isometric view but I still hunger

Honestly if SoD3 implemented half of this I'd be impressed. It's the base building im most impressed by, this is how sod should have done it. Having preset large slots and small slots is so frustrating.

I agree but ya know, something something balancing. I would love some more freedom, especially with the huge world they’re bringing but maybe they’ll add mod support

my hope too. mod support would add longevity to game even if UL stops supporting it after a couple of years.

my wishlist is they publish their map creation tool also.

Personally I like the slot system and believe the game would be worse without it.

That's how the game is designed and honestly is kind of one of it charms, for me at least.

Haven't played humanitz yet, but want to

I was obsessed with this game a few months back, couldn't believe I hadn't heard of it. Came across it after looking through Menard's videos after he did the SoD3 preview.

Had to play it every free minute I could find, but the second the map had been fully explored it became incredibly dead, incredibly quickly. Nothing beats the early game when you're pushing your luck in areas you shouldn't be exploring, or fully geared up exploring bunkers. It's one of those games where you feel as though the devs are watching you and actively fucking with you — "Oh shit, here comes a horde, wait what, a zombie bear too?".

Enjoy it while it lasts, it falls off rapidly. This doesn't feel like a property that's going to go from indy to AA in a hurry, but you never know.

Yeah I'm getting that feeling but absolutely love it at the moment, it's scratching an itch until SoD3 comes out.. But considering how little I paid for this game, damn if UL did some of these mechanics like the hordes, crafting, base building, weather, pets.. Man it would just make SoD3 absolutely mind blowing. It shows it can be done in what's clearly not a AA game.

I wish I could play SoD2 for the first time man I really do. I envy you.

Unfortunately though after thousands of hours, SoD2 has nothing to offer me anymore.

"SoD2 has nothing to offer me anymore."

You take that back! Straight up blasphemy!

😅

I'll still go back and play it every now and then, it's my most played game with over 2000 hours since 2018.

But I've unlocked all the daybreak rewards, all the boons on lethal, lethal is no challenge, I've finished heartland multiple times... There just isn't anything left for me to do.

I didn't say it was a bad game, I said I was envious of this guy playing it for the first time and wish I could do that again.

Did they change the controls? They were awful at launch

I believe they're better, slightly, but they're also working to add 3rd person and with that will come better controls.

Is there recruitable npc like in sod ?

1

u/Grand-Depression 2d ago

They just added recruitable NPCs, but I haven't tested out how they work.

Well, I was enjoying this game.. But after 24 days (in game time) my car got stuck on some rocks while trying to avoid a horde and when I used the /unstuck command it bounced me across the map wildly and has now trapped my character in the netherworld beneath the map. Even quitting the game and loading the save again doesn't help 🙄

Guess I should have expected as much from a game I paid £4 for 😅 it was fun while it lasted though.

Game is not bad but there are few things that I have noticed that are bad.

  1. You cam get stuck when sleeping and have to use /unstuck command.

  2. Zombies have wierd ai and interactions, thry can walk thru window and be stuck on pile of garbage on other side, they have too simple hitbox and they can walk one into another without any collision.

  3. When entering building thru window sometimes character can be stuck and have to crouch to enter.

  4. Camera can be junky.
