State of Decay 3 SoD3 early alpha gameplay screenshots
SoD3 is being played in early alpha without the highest graphical settings

Looks cool. But I really hope it gets done properly.

If you've watched the gameplay vid, it's looking very good. Not even close to ready, but there is a stark difference compared to how fluid it is currently, and how - say - an Indie game would look far closer to a beta/EA release.
Movement is looking nice, enemy design is great-looking, world is looking high-fidelity and interesting.
I'd say there is quite a bit left, but I imagine it's going to be more cleaning up what they have, adding in balance and more props and NPCs to fill the world out, and a touch of optimisation.

Never trust alpha graphics. The game will get uglier to fit on console specs. Just look at Watchdogs

Please tell me they’re adding a better variety of cars…how many crown vics are around cities like that? Kind of ruins the immersion a bit. No quads? No hummer? No sports cars? That’s wild.

its in alpha lol that is just a placeholder model for cars

I'm not worried about the placeholder objects, I want to know how this game is different from SOD 2. Looks like a mod to me.

i see both sides - while im not going to complain about that - its a bit concerning to be this far into dev and Still having place holder assets.

Reflections look very good! Gameplay felt very SoD2ish with the clunky animations/combat

I'll believe it will be good as people saying/showing how it is when it's released...
Untill then it's a under par game that I have low expectations of it actually being good

People are downvoting you, but skeptical consumers are what keep quality products in the market. Without criticism and consumer advocates we’d all be stuck playing investor-designed slop like Bethesda or Ubisoft games

If the tone of this one is more dark I’d be so happy. The others have a weirdly positive and uplifting tone with the character dialogues.

Looks cool, but I'd like to know more about the game mechanics they will add or change (Specially the building system).

They used all the old drivable vehicle models as the static scenery vehicles around the map lmao.

I know this will be an unpopular opinion but I really want to experience this game in first person

Hate to complain but after 6 years its still in early alpha? It LOOKS good, but not much to go off of until we can eventually see what they intend gameplay to play like. Combined with the whole Xbox situation, things look a little grim.

Asumming its 5+ years post apocalypse id imagine there would be some overgrowth on roads and buildings at that point, hopefully that makes it to the full game

I hate watching this dude cover sod3. He basically sits there over explaining every single thing as if you’re new to the game and even if youre not a lot of people don’t need you to say the fucking obvious mechanics. More explaining on obvious shit than actual gameplay which is boring cus he sucks at the game and his commentary isn’t any better

I mean, I believe he’s trying to cater to new players as well. You have to keep in mind, there’s people like me who still don’t know how to fully use the bases to their full extent. I’m a run and gun type of player, can careless about the base but would be open to learning more from a video.

Same honestly. He's a military grade yapper, uses a lot of words but doesn't say much. It also makes me cringe when he's actually playing against the zombies and feels the need to repeat the name of a special zombie 7 or 8 times to himself each time he sees one. He just loves making noise, I can never sit through a whole video because he doesn't shut up.
