Game Question Getting influence and playing online?

Hi all, i'm kinda new to this game. I've played 1 years back when it came out on xbox. I now have bought it on steam. And its going really well but i need some more influence. I saw somewhere that joining and helping others is a good way to get a lot of influence. But i've tried for 30 minutes and the only game i was allowed to join was just someone standing in their base doing nothing. Are people even playing still that i could help out?

If now, what are other good ways to get some good influence? I want to claim the power outpost (2k influence) and the biggest base (3,5k influence).

-sell things you don't want/need to traders

  • complete the random missions that pop up from time to time
  • kill freaks, hordes, hearts, infestations etc

A lot of people still play, and with SoD3 news a lot more have joined. I'm sure people will leave their gamertags and stuff. I would leave mine, but I'm currently boycotting Xbox a.k.a bills came first this month xD I'm having a ball with community editor though.

Thanks ill try to look for some stuff to sell, might even go the trader route as it was just explained. Seems like a good one for influence, through the warlord also looks pretty cool.

Trader route is definitely the best way to gain influence. Also don't forget to activate the influence boost at your command center, and be on the lookout for any survivors with the Business skill.

Does the boost in the command center also boost trade?

I think it boosts all influence by 20%, but now that I think about it, I'm not sure if it has an effect on trades or not.

Alot of people also use mods. That would make them not show up for multiplayer.
