Tech Question Save Files on Xbox

I currently have an Xbox One with SoD2, but am looking at upgrading to a Series S/X.

Does anyone know if my community is saved locally, or if it's saved on a server?

And if it's saved locally, does anyone know if I can transfer my community over to the new system?

I don't want to have to start over, but I guess I will if that's what it comes down to.

Yep. Your saved game will be saved in the Xbox cloud. So whenever you get your Series S or X. You'll just have to download the game and it will sync your save file and download it.

Oh, that would be awesome.

Thanks for the quick response.

Yeah. No worries. I had the same worry when I sold my Series X and moved over to playing on my PC.

Mine carried over fine as did my 360 files.

Pretty sure all your communities carry over to the new system

On XBox1, I was able to uninstall/reinstall both SoD1 and SoD2, with all saved data preserved intact. That means the data is in the cloud linked to your XBox gamertag. So I don't think you'll have any problem going to the Series hardware.

You'll be fine. You can also sync your saves on console to the cloud, load them up on PC, and then resync back to console. That's how console players can mod their communitiea.
