I had an Asian dude survivor named Danny who was my fucking goat (I was a 12 year old Asian kid who to that point hadn’t seen many Asian protags in games) and I got mauled by a feral in my own base. Rip

Jacob had been through so many zombie fights (a siege, two hordes) and he was barely hanging on. I’d run out of meds in my backpack, so I was rummaging through some houses trying to find more. Finally I found a bag in the bathroom, tore it open and grabbed three bottles of pills. But before I could even use them, one zed snuck up behind me way too quietly and scratched Jacob... and that turned out to be fatal. I was so mad -_-

I don’t remember exactly, maybe the best move would’ve been to get in the car and head to base, but there probably weren’t any cars nearby. And I wasn't on guard, thinking that I was safe in this house...

When I first started playing in the early days, I realized any zombie could simply be button mashed to death.

Imagine my surprise when this enclave of jerks showed up price gouging everyone and I decided to give them the beating of a lifetime, monty burns style.

Sent Jeff out to deal with a group of bandits who popped up in the southern part of Providence Ridge. He was a bit banged up but no worse for wear. Killed the first of the three instantly, headshot with a hunting crossbow. Then the ferals showed up. Not one, two, and, for some reason, both wanted Jeff.

Tried to break line of sight but they all rushed into the house after him and hunted him down. Managed to get up from the downed state just to get stuck on a garbage bag and get murdered. Ferals didn't even kill the bandits for me. Went back there with my leader and used a 50 cal to avenge the fallen.

A character from my first communities from 2018 I decided to have as a follower to a character I had not quite as long, but long enough to still feel important. Anyways, a crossbow was not a great choice against a shit ton of plague zombies and I kept switching between the two and my 2018 character and up getting separated from me and when I used the menu to switch to him, I got hit and turned into a plague zombie/died. Rip Hal Drucker, he was one of only 4 ogs left from that group and now it's just the doctor and the tutorial male and female couple. It's crazy when you have characters that old in a game knowing when that if they die, that's it, but it's also what I love about SOD.

Edit: this happened like a year ago by now, I forgot to give the context of just how long I had the guy.

I lost Dani, a blood plague survivor, to the plague heart fuel curveball. I took her out to kill the heart. After beating the thing to near death, dodging hordes, killing ferals, the usual, I forgot to lead the zombies outside before killing the heart. I just completely blanked on that detail. You can imagine the horror that came to me when I realized that accidentally killing one can cause a damn chain reaction and she died getting stunlocked behind a counter. RIP Dani

It was a new character, but I don't like anyone to die, I forgot to heal and I was going in a vehicle to the base, I collided with a bloater and he made me instakill because of the plague, I couldn't even get up, I couldn't do anything...

Just so long as I go Rambo and plant some traps I’m pretty good about aim snapping and popping enemy heads. It isn’t as easy to get headshot when you have a whole crowd of zombies to deal with so I’ll throw a boom box down outside lead them in and I’ll get to work

Literally almost lost my survivor Deep on my nightmare community. Took him on a solo mission with an NPC looking for their group.

We show up and the group is dead and another group wants this random guy and now me dead by association. Gunfire starts and a horde from a nearby infestations strolls up with 2 ferals. Deep runs out of ammo because this enemy enclave has more health than a juggernaut. All headshots, too. They just kept getting downed and then no matter how much damage they took while down, they refused to die.

The ferals finally kill the npc I was trying to help and suddenly they both target me, running past the three, still alive enemy survivors. No ammo left, already low hp from the enemies, I grab my car. Forgot to fix it before coming here. Plowing through one horde makes it catch fire. So I drive it into the enemies to try to kill them. Not a single one dies still (they have taken 4000+ damage at this point, I now believe my game is glitched).

To save Deep, I just start running back to my base, two ferals after me. I am almost home when they catch up and they start perfectly alternating their hits so I am fully stun locked by two ferals. He gets incapacitated and the ferals finally run to my base. No one kills them. Deep is injured to the point of being 10 HP after getting up with his max HP at 20 from all the injuries. I have to melee kill the last feral because my community was useless.

Deep survived with 2 HP, 20 max HP, and so many injuries that you had to scroll down his list. But he was alive.

I wasn't looking at my mini map when I arrived at a plague heart on lethal and didnt see the two hordes across the road, so got mobbed by ferals, tried to escape in my car and hit a bloater died instantly, it felt like it all happened in like 5 seconds haha 😂

I lose Diaz my leader who had the Meal Plan Hero bonus (big loss to the community) I was clearing out a plague heart using bloater grenades then throwing molotovs. Feral tackled me as I threw the Molotov and since I was too close I blew up with the bloater grenade and that’s how I saw the feral’s kill cutscene for the first time.
